Book Review: Three Wishes

It's time for another book review!
And another one that's only $1.99 on the Kindle (get it here)

I'd been looking for a light easy breezy read and stumbled across Three Wishes by Liane Moriarty when looking at some other books she'd written.

The Amazon synopsis is:
Australian triplets Lyn, Cat, and Gemma Kettle are about to turn thirty-three and one is pregnant, one has just had her life turned upside down, and one is only just keeping hers from skidding off the fast lane. Meanwhile, their divorced parents have been behaving very oddly indeed.
In this family comedy by Liane Moriarty, we follow the three Kettle sisters through their tumultuous thirty-third year -- as they deal with sibling rivalry and secrets, revelations and relationships, unfaithful husbands and unthinkable decisions, and the fabulous, frustrating life of forever being part of a trio.

Each chapter of the book alternated between one of the three triplets, which I enjoyed because you got to see multiple sides of the story.

The book starts out at a certain event, and then goes back in time to explain how everything leads up to that moment.

I enjoyed the book--thought it was a really easy read, and I enjoyed the different characters that were the sisters. The only thing that I hated about the book was that there was odd use of italics. One word should have been italicized and then half of a sentence would be. Or the rest of a sentence and the first few words of the next one. Almost as if someone forgot to un-click the italics option when typing. I'm not sure if this was a Kindle thing or if the book was like it, but it messed up my flow when reading.
Just two examples of what I'm talking about. Some were more awkward/distracting
Despite the weird italics throughout the book, I really did enjoy reading about these sisters, learning who their characters were, how they interacted, and where their stories went.
I could see this as a good beach read, for sure.

  1. I just got another Liane Moriarty book from the library-- What Alice Forgot. I'm looking forward to it because I've never read anything by her! For only $2, I might have to go download this one... But yes, those italics are super weird and would annoy me.
