Weekend Snapshot

My weekend was pretty fun, although not terribly eventful, but that was 100% ok with me.

Since it was our first full weekend in the house, with both of us there, we took the weekend time to get as much accomplished as we could.

Friday after work, one of my besties, Trish, came over to see the house and then we hit up a happy hour right by the house. Trish had to get a little bit of work done before we left, and Cooper was quite happy to take on the roll of her assistant:
We tried out this restaurant by our place that I'd heard good things about, but hadn't been to yet. They had a great happy hour, so of course we had to sample some of their tasty cocktails and then MG joined us for a dinner of sushi rolls! Yum!

We went back to the house to hang for a bit, and then Trish made her way back home, and MG and I watched some more OITNB before my eyelids told me it was time for bed.

Saturday we were up and at 'em to get some errands done. We went to Lowe's for some random house stuff like a weed whacker and a sander (among other things) and then went out in search of a new computer desk since our dumb movers broke our other one. We found one, at a good price and made our way back home to build it before our friends came over for a cook out.
Well, 3 hours later....we had a desk!
And now our "office space" is complete. We just need something colorful for the walls--but in no rush!

Around 6, our two couple friends came over--MG made some amazing wings, fries and sausages on the grill. It was all SO yummy, and we were all stuffed silly. It started to sprinkle a little bit, so the rest of the night was spent hanging out in our living room and chatting. I'm a bad blogger and forgot to take a picture of anything that night. Slap my hand!

Sunday we did more errands for the week and for the house. When we got home, MG decided to do some yard and house work, like the great husband that he is (realistically, I think it was just an excuse for him to use the power washer, but either way, I'm ok with it :)
Thanks to him, the front of our house looks SO much cleaner and nicer than it did before!

Then Sunday night we ordered in Chinese food to watch the USA vs Portugal game. Since we don't know the restaurants in the area, I hit up Yelp! to find a decent one (with low hopes, since I've yet to find a really good take out Chinese place since living in VA for the past 7 years). I stumbled upon a place nearby that had stellar reviews so we tried it out, and OH MY WORD....I feel like we hit the jackpot because it was SO good. Finally, we have a good option for take out! That was enough to make my night right there. Watching the US alllllllmost pull out a win was pretty awesome on top of that, altho heartbreaking. I'm glad they at least ended in a tie, instead of a loss, tho!

We also finished the last episode of OITNB, and I really liked how the last episode tied things up, so I'm not sitting on pins and needles waiting for the next season (next year!!!), but also sad that it's over.

And this morning my wedding video proof arrived in the mail!! So, there will definitely be something to watch tonight when I get home!!!! #cantwait

I hope you had a great weekend!
I'm off to make it through the rest of today, and then TWO MORE DAYS of school!!!!
