Blog Every Day in May {Day 15}

Day 15, Wednesday: A Day in the life (include photos from throughout your typical day - this could be "a photo an hour" if you'd like)
I can pretty much promise you that this is going to be far from riveting, but here we go!

I wake up around 6:30 every morning, and take my little Cooper for a walk.

When I get back I sit down and have some breakfast, check facebook/blogs/email, etc and watch the news and the start of the Today show.

Then I figure out what the heck Im gonna wear that day, do my hair/make up, grab my lunch, some coffee and head out the door around 7:30.
Sometimes my view is pretty awesome on my drive into work

I get to work around 8 and get myself ready for my day of kids.
My desk-where I do paperwork, write reports, g-chat, send emails etc.
From my post last week, you know that lots of time is spent here, playing games, and learning with kids:
this is also where the majority of my funny kid stories that I share on the blog happen

My day is over by about 3:50 every day, so I hop in my car and head home.

Coop and I go for a little longer of a walk, and then I either park myself on the couch, or go to the gym (or do a video at home).

Shower.

Make dinner with the help of MG--trying out some new Pinterest recipes here and there :) (Check out my Recipes tab for some of my stellar ones!)
Or, if it's later in the week, we might go out somewhere local for happy hour and dinner, or just dinner.

Usually after dinner we settle in and watch some of our favorite tv shows, play with and snuggle Cooper, and then head to bed around 10 (like old people). Just to do it again the next day!
Told ya....it's such an awesome routine....*note: sarcasm
 You're jealous aren't you? :)

WILW and Oh How Pinteresting

Another Wednesday is here and I feel like this week is actually moving at a good pace! And you lucky peeps get TWO posts from me today!

I'm linking up with Jamie and Michelle for another round of:

I'm loving that when MG is away on a golf trip with the guys this weekend, that I will be spending my time getting a massage, and having a girl's night with a friend where we will watch girly movies, reality tv re-runs (I'm sure) and drink wine! Whoop!

I'm loving how my body has changed since cutting out English muffins in the mornings for breakfast. Instead I'm having a hard boiled egg and Greek yogurt which is helping me to slim down and stay full in the mornings! (Along with in general watching what I'm eating and making other small changes.)

I'm loving that when I wrote a Happy Mother's Day post to my mom on fb, she responded, and then MG's mom also wrote to my mom, this comment:
"Gotta admit you raised a truly lovely daughter and I feel blessed to have her in my life too!!!! Thanks for sharing her with {MG} and all of my kids and gkids! She is very special to all of us!"
It gave me the warm fuzzies and definitely made me feel loved...

I'm loving that there are only 23 more days left of this school year! And I only have 2 more meetings left to schedule! Whoooop!

I'm loving that in less than one month, my friend/coworker and I will be seeing the Package Tour in DC with BSB, BoyzIIMen and 98 Degrees!
Can't wait to relive my pre-teen and teenage years!

And, as always, I'm loving Pinterest!

This week I've been pinning...

Love it all (minus that I could never wear those heels).
Need to get a white blazer. Stat.
black bean burgers with guac and salsa
I'm intrigued by these, and may wanna attempt it one day
Preach!
I want this over-sized chair. I could see many solid naps happening here
Puppy hugs! Is there anything more adorable than this picture?
I don't think so.
The truth. Amen.
Follow Me on Pinterest Take a peek at the other cool/fun/yummy stuff I've been pinning!
Happy Wednesday!!!

(if I ever go to a dolphin show somewhere, I look like a little giddy kid. no joke)

3. when MG reaches for my hand or pulls me in for a cuddle

4. hearing/seeing that my dad is doing ok (since his heart attack) and hugs from both of my parents

5. getting into bed after new sheets have been put on

6. white wine/sangria on warm Spring/Summer days or nights

7. Girl's Nights with friends

8. Channing Tatum or Ryan Gosling. Preferably shirtless.
(You're welcome)
9. driving home with the sunroof open and the windows down while the weather is perfect

10. going on vacation/traveling

Blog Every Day in May {Day 13}

Day 13, Monday: Issue a public apology. This can be as funny or as serious or as creative as you want it to be.

I'm sorry, world. "For what?" you may be asking. Welp, here goes....

I'm sorry for the times that I leave my house without brushing my hair (luckily this is usually only to walk my dog around my complex).  I suppose the same could be said for without a bra, too (and that is certainly ONLY when walking Cooper).

I'm sorry for the times I curse yell at people who tick me off when I'm driving.

I'm sorry for spending too much time on Pinterest. Well, ok I'm only a little bit sorry about this one. Not a full blown sorry.

I'm sorry for not calling my parents as often as I should. When the week is boring and nothing new has happened, I just don't think to call (cuz frankly, a call saying "nothing's new" sounds kinda lame). But, I know they like hearing from me and I should do it more often.

I'm sorry that I didn't go out as much as I should have in college. Being in a 6 year relationship just kinda didn't lend itself to going to tons of college parties.

I'm sorry I didn't join a sorority. Knowing how hard it is to meet good girl friends after college, I wish I had that network of solid girl friends to rely on, talk to, and go visit at this point in my life.

I'm sorry I didn't pick up Cooper's poop a few times. I'll admit it--especially when it's raining, sometimes I don't pick up Cooper's poop. It's gross, and I try and go back later to get it when it's not pouring. But, in that moment, my first thought is to get it over with and back to a dry space.
I should dog shame myself for this one.

I'm sorry for being antsy. In some situations more than others.

I'm sorry for not cleaning up my room as a kid. The floor was my "organization system" and it was awful. Messy rooms drive me bonkers now. Not sure how I ever survived in the mess I called my room when I grew up. Or how my parents didn't throw me out. #OnlyChildPerk

I'm sorry for buying a sewing machine and never using it. That stupid thing is still in it's cover, sitting on a shelf in our storage closet. Bad bad bad girl!

I'm sorry for not doing more stuff after work (like taking classes), mainly because I just want to go to the gym (kinda, not really) and relax after work (definitely more relaxing). But, there's only so much of my life that I have to live (especially before kids) so I need to take advantage while I can.

I'm sorry for the times that I've been ungrateful (and hopefully those times are few and far between)

Do you forgive me, world? :)

Weekend Update

I had SUCH a fun weekend!

I'm kinda bummed it's over.

Friday night MG and I went on a little date night after work. We had dinner at Rustico (super yum!) where we sat next to an extremely annoying couple (it took me a bit to tune them out). And afterwards we went to see Iron Man 3. It was good, but I didn't love it. We were poking holes in the entire story line afterwards haha. Frankly, after Avengers, Im not sure anything will be nearly as cool.

Saturday MG's cousin came down from Philly to visit and got here early afternoon, so we went and had lunch at Lost Dog Cafe (they have TONS of yummy sandwiches and they donate some of their money to dog shelters), and then went to Old Town by the water to enjoy the day.

Unfortunately, the weather was off and on all day, and the clouds came out, so we went back to the condo and played a card game until it was time to get ready to go out in Georgetown.
Figured it was a good night to wear one of the many new dresses I've bought recently :)
We had a mega delicious dinner at J. Paul's (I had mahi mahi tacos and I'm still thinking about them, they were soooo good), and during dinner a guy actually approached the table and said that MG's cousin was beautiful and eventually asked for her phone number. I gave the guy a lot of credit because MG was at the table, and he came up anyway. He did it really respectfully, too. After that fun little event, we went out to a bar nearby.

The bartender we met was also a teacher in my county and he was SUPER cool.

We had such a fun night!

Our couple friends were also out in Georgetown so they came to meet up with us, too:

Overall, it was one of those nights that was just so fun, that you talk about it the whole next day.

MG's cousin left on Sunday late morning, and we spent the rest of the day being lazy, running errands, and enjoying the pretty day outside.

Day 12, Sunday: What do you miss? (a person, a thing, a place, a time of your life...)

This is kinda hard. But, if I'm going to be completely honest here, it would be one of my best friends who I haven't spoken to in over a year.

We were friends the first day of college, all the way up until last April--more than 10 years. I'm still not entirely sure why things ended up in such a way that we stopped talking, but I miss the friendship that I had with her, being a part of her life, and she a part of mine.

I think sometimes it's hard to maintain friendships, especially when you don't live super close by. We did so well at it for so long, but when we didn't talk online on a daily basis anymore, it got fewer and farther between. I would try and reach out to her via email to see what was going on in her life. She would respond, I would write back, and then I wouldn't hear anything until the next time I initiated an email.

And then she got upset that I didn't tell her about MG and I moving in--that she found out about it on my blog. But, the thing I didn't understand was that I had reached out to her earlier that week because I had been nervous about bringing the topic up with MG and wanted her advice (along with all of my other friends' who I tormented with it, too haha).

She sent me an email saying that she was upset about it and didn't feel like we were friends anymore. She began the email telling me that she knew she had contributed to it too, but then continued on to just blame me for everything. I responded to her email and at the end I let her know that I still wanted to be friends, but if she didn't, I would accept that. She never wrote me back.

I don't know what else I could have done differently. I could have called more, but she wasn't a phone person so I had tried to respect that. I could have emailed every day, or every few days, but I got a little discouraged that I was always the one reaching out and responding, and having her drop off. How could I fix something she was upset about if I never knew she was upset about it until it came to a big angry explosion?

What I've come to realize is that she was an important part of my life. Someone that I truly care for and wish good things for. I miss how things were with us--easy, someone I could rely on, a constant in my life. But, if she's not meant to be in my life at this point, then so be it. I can't take the blame for a failed relationship when I feel like I tried. And I don't want someone in my life who doesn't want to be there for me, to celebrate the good things in my life, or be there when things are rocky. If the day comes where we reconnect, I will be open to it. But, for now, I'm just continuing to surround myself with positive people who I support and I feel support me.

I do miss the good times we had. And how easy it was to be around each other when we saw each other--like we had just seen each other the day before. I'll cherish our friendship always.
