WILW and Oh How Pinteresting!

Another Wednesday is here! Time for two of my favorite link ups!!

I'm loving that the boyfriend is back in this country. It sucked not being able to talk to him. It did NOT suck that he let me stay at his condo (soon to be "our" condo) while he was away tho!

I'm loving my cute little pup:

I'm loving that MG and I are making a trip up to Philly to see his 8 year old niece perform in a play with high schoolers, where she has several solo songs! Spending time with the fam, catching a Phillies game, and having a great time together are going to be great!

I'm loving that the weather this weekend is supposed to be nice, here AND in Philly--it's about dang time no rain on the weekend!!

I'm loving that I've gotten on the 50 Shades of Gray bandwagon. I haven't gotten to anything really steamy yet, but I'll be back with a review once I'm done reading the book.

And as always, I'm loving Pinterest for all of the great ideas and time-wasting that if gives me!

These are some of the things I've been pinning....

Hello! Cute work outfit, or even night out! LOVE!
WANT!!!!

I want this, too. Now!

Crock Pot Buffalo Chicken Lettuce Wraps

Truth.
I'm a sucker for pictures of sleeping puppies!

Happy Tuesday!

My brain is all over the place today (this seems to be a theme lately), so bear with me and this random post!

1) I've had the song "My boyfriend's back and you're gonna be in trouble" stuck in my head this morning. MG just got back into the country this morning and I guess my sub conscious decided to annoy me play this on repeat in my head. I'm just glad he got back today and I heard from him moments after I read about the foiled plan to put an underwear bomb on a US bound flight. #worrywart!

2) Don't freeze chicken in the package it comes in from the grocery store. When you go to remove it, the stupid pad it was on sticks to the chicken making it impossible to get off. Ask me how I know this. Doh!

3) I just switched over to Facebook timeline. I resisted for a long time, but the cover photos and the ability to control privacy a bit more were features that I liked. I guess there's no turning back now!

3b) in the process of switching over I revisited several "life events" of which included:
      - becoming FB friends with p!nky, my first bloggie-to-real-life bud, on Dec 14th (yay, tender!)
      - seeing when MG and I started dating

4) I encountered my very first defective greek yogurt ever yesterday. It was a Chobani raspberry flavored one. I opened it up and it was ALL the fruit stuff and like 5% yogurt. I took two bites and couldn't eat it, it was SO sugary sweet and no substance. So guess who went without breakfast yesterday and ate goldfish instead? This girl!

5) I'm starting to become addicted to the show Mad Men. I never knew what it was about, but MG kept saying how good it was. Once this season started, I watched with him. The first few episodes were pretty boring (and MG agreed), but now it's getting better. It's an interesting concept for a show, and kinda cool to see how things were "back then"....and Don Draper isn't too bad on the eyes either!

Adding another tv show to my list is a bit overwhelming ( #firstworldproblems), but at least this one isn't a reality tv show! :)

and, seriously, where is her forehead???
6) Speaking of reality tv, Teresa Guidici on Real Housewives of New Jersey annoys to poopies out of me! She is SO dumb and deluded! Shannon @ Page:Twenty-two and I were having this discussion earlier yesterday and today....she is so ridiculous that you end up screaming at her through the tv....and then YOU look like the idiot. I felt for Teresa at the beginning of last season, but by the middle I could see why she's in the mess she's in--always twisting things around so that she's the victim, but never taking responsibility for things that SHE does (hate people like this!!) I saw somewhere that she is now regretting acting the way she has and wants her friends/family back. Might be a case of "you can't take back what you've said"....I know I wouldn't be too forgiving of her and her nasty comments/actions!

Alright, I guess that's enough randomness for one post! Catch ya later, gators!

My Weekend (and I'm a Moron)

Hey people....happy Monday! I dunno about you all, but I'm feeling a teeny bit groggy this morning and this morning I can't blame it on the weather since it was clear skies and coolish temperatures when I got up and left the house today.

Anywho, my weekend was pretty low key. Friday night MG and I went out with a couple friend of ours and had pizza at a local place called Fireworks. Their pizza is SO good...we may have overindulged just a smidgy! Since the weather was nice we sat outside during dinner and decided to go to Rooftop Bar afterwards for some after dinner beverages. After hanging for a while, soaking up the nice night, we called it quits and headed home.

The next morning we both awoke to semi-hangovers and MG got a phone call around 745 from work telling him he needed to go in and check on something. He hurried in, and the longer I sat around waiting for him (since I couldn't go back to sleep), the worse I felt. He finally got home and said he was starving so he started making us breakfast. This was around 9:30. Our bedroom set was supposed to be delivered between 10-1 that day.Well, who calls and says they are here at 9:40? The furniture guys.

We hadn't eaten yet, we hadn't cleaned up the room/moved things out of there. Basically it was a big cluster-F! As we're getting stuff moved around and whatnot, I go to get my purse to get money out to tip the guys. What do I find? That my wallet is NOT THERE......yes, again.

My dumb butt legit left it in the cab the night before. AGAIN. (I think it's the big man upstairs' way of telling me I shouldn't pay for cabs......definitely not that I need to be less of a dummy! haha). The funny/stupid thing is, on the way TO the restaurant, I almost did the exact same thing when we were paying for the cab! So, at that point, I am totally pissed at myself for doing this AGAIN. I had literally just had the same damn thing happen like 3 weeks ago. I almost didn't even write about this on the blog because I didn't want you all to think I am a complete moron (which I am), but I had to because...

There are GOOD people out there. I got a call around noon from my apartment complex's office saying that someone had dropped off my wallet for me and they would hold onto it for me til I could come get it. MG drove me over on our way out to get some lunch and I was preparing myself for none of the cash to be in there, my credit cards gone, etc. I got it and EVERYTHING was still in there: credit cards, cash and all. I'm guessing the cab driver drove it by that morning since he was a local cabbie. I wish I remembered the cab company's name so I could call and tell them what a nice thing he did, but I don't remember it. :( I am just glad that there are still people out there who are kind and do the right thing. Even when I do stupid things like this.

I'm looking into getting some kind of a clip or something so I'm not such an idiot in the future. Try not to judge me. I am fully aware that I'm a bonehead haha.

On another note, the bedroom set looks awesome in the room! It looks like adults actually live/sleep there now! :) The only picture I took of anything was this one:
Cooper was so kind and offered to test out the set for us--seemed like he liked what was going on! :)
You can kinda see the headboard and the nightstand in this one. I'll try and remember to take a picture of it all together at some point in case you're curious.

Later that evening, MG left for the stupid work trip that came up last minute, so I saw him off, and hung out at his place for the rest of the night. Sunday I spent the day with my parents since we wont be here next weekend for actual Mother's Day (don't forget to get your momma's some presents!) which was really nice. I headed back to MG's (to avoid psycho roommate) and settled in for the night.

{via}
I plan to stay there again tonight since he doesn't get back until Tuesday, but I think I'm gonna get some groceries and set up the crock pot in the morning so when MG gets home from work on Tuesday night, he'll have a nice meal waiting for him! It's this recipe I saw on Pinterest called Crock Pot Cream Cheese Chicken Chili that we've made before and both raved over. (The picture doesn't do it justice....and ours was a lot less soupy than this picture shows).  You can eat it alone or put it into tortillas for taco/burrito like things. I think MG will be happy not to have to worry about getting groceries or cooking after travelling for three days.

I hope you all had less bone-headed weekends than I did and are ready to take on the week!
Catch ya on the flip side!!

Confessions Friday!

Oooooh, it's FRIDAYYYYYYY! Can you feel the excitement? I dunno about you all but this has felt like the. longest. week. EVER!
And, since it's a special Friday, and I'm a dork...
:)

I am SO ready for the weekend. MG and I have our bedroom set being delivered on Saturday along with a surprise 30th birthday party for a friend of ours that night (coincidentally at the same place I threw MG's 30th at). I'm looking forward to new things, hanging with friends, and overall relaxation!

But, there are some things that I must confess, so I'm linking up with Leslie @ A Blonde Ambition For Confessional Friday:

I confess that....

...even though I have been really good about cleaning out my closets and getting rid of clothes, that I bought three things in the last two days that I found on Pinterest:

The dresses, total, were $100 and I need them for a few weddings coming up. I figured it wasn't SO bad because 1) I would have easily spent at least $100 on ONE dress, so getting two for that price is a good deal and 2) MG said he liked them without any mention of our dwindling closet space (win!). And the ring was $9 and super cute.

....I wish a friend of mine who I've lost touch with, would reach out and make the effort to make amends.

.... I'm supremely intrigued by these 50 Shades of Grey books. I've heard a lot of hype about them over the last few months, and moreso in the last few days on the blogs, so I think I'm gonna hop on the bandwagon.

....doing Rosetta Stone makes me realize just how horrible my Spanish skills were/are. I can understand a decent amount, but RS slaps me in the face every time I do it, with the realization that my Spanish needs a LOT of help. And I probably sound like an imbecile when I attempt to speak it to native speakers. Oh well!

....when MG's work spring work trips on him, I don't think I've ever once been excited about them. It's cool for him to get to go galavanting around the country (or, in his last job, to different countries), but.....what about ME???? I always tell him, at least I care and would miss him, rather than being "yeah whatever." I think I like these trips less, too, cuz they pop up out of nowhere  and he has to go within a few days, so I can't even plan for them, like the one he told me about last night that he might have to leave Saturday night for. Does that make sense? (Tell me it does, so I don't feel like a freak! hehe)

....I haven't worked out at all this week. Dealing with the stress of my roommate and work, selling things around my apartment, and doc appt's have all kept me from working out. I need to get back on the workout wagon cuz it's almost bikini time!

....I'm tired of always giving and giving and giving and having others just take take take. In reality, I do it to myself. I don't set boundaries, or when I do, I go back on them and have the tendency of being TOO nice, or doing TOO much for someone else who does very little for me. I need to stop that because it only ends up leaving me feeling used and hurt.

....I have a countdown on my white board in my office of how many days of school there are left (27, in case you were wondering). I can't wait until that number is in the single digits!

I'm off to make it through my work day and get ready for the weekend. Let's keep our fingers crossed that my roommate doesn't pull anymore jerky moves while I'm at MG's this weekend!

Happy Friday!

Thirsty Thursday: Virtual Happy Hour #3

Happy Thursday! And since it's Thursday, that means it's time for another edition of Thirsty Thursday with myself and the lovely Trish at Tales from Trish:

This week's drink is: Blueberry Champagne Sparklers!
{via}

What you need:

1 cup blueberries
1 cup pineapple juice
2 teaspoons chopped mint leaves
superfine sugar, as needed
1 bottle champagne

Puree blueberries, pineapple juice and mint in a blender. Taste for tartness. If needed, blend in sugar to taste. Strain.

Pour 2-3 tablespoons juice into flutes and slowly top with champagne.

So, now that we have our drink...

What's on your mind?

Stress! I can't begin to tell you how long and stressful this week has felt. Between all of the testing I've had to do at work lately in order to meet deadlines, dealing with a crummy situation with a friend, and my roommate drama, I feel like I've been through the ringer a few times over....and it's not even Friday yet! (time to take a big looooooong guzzle of my virtual drink) :)

Yes, that is an Adidas shirt from like 1990-something.
Don't judge me :)
I've also been trying to clean out the apartment of things that I don't need since MG's place doesn't have room for all of the furniture that I have. I've taken to listing things on craigslist and so far, I've gotten rid of  a lot of furniture stuff, but I've also gone through my closet and dressers once now, and got rid of two FULL trash bags worth of clothes! I'm pretty proud of myself--it's rare that I give up clothes that easily, but I guess having the motivation of moving in and knowing space will be tight made it easier. Plus, it just kinda felt good to get rid of things that I haven't worn at all, or much, in the last few years. Someone will get some good use out of them, and that makes me happy.

On a more fun note, I know a lot of people are obsessed with Draw Something (I myself went through the phase of not being able to stop myself from playing it ALL THE TIME), but I am now obsessed with Scramble with Friends. Have you played? It's like boggle, and I love it. I particularly love that everyone who seemed to cream me in Words with Friends (which I don't even play anymore), I can whoop up on in Scramble! Like MG....it is comical how frustrated he gets when I beat him, time and time again. (I even played with no cheats once and let him play with two, and I still got him!) If you haven't tried it, download it--you will be addicted! :)

Did you hear that Ben and Jerry's has Greek Yogurt fro-yo (or "Greek Frozen Yogurt)??? I saw an ad for this in the metro station of all places and it makes me happy. Not only will it, hopefully, be even healthier than regular fro-yo, but the flavors that they are starting out with sound promising!

I recently got MG to try Greek Yogurt and he likes it as much as I do. The amount of protein you get from it is awesome and it's so good for you!

Since we've both been frequenting our local Fro-yo establishment all the time more often than we probably should, this would be a great alternative! I'm excited!
~.~.~.~.~
On that note, I need to leave our happy hour and get back to that icky place known as "the real world." I hope you all enjoyed our time at Happy Hour--I know I feel better after airing my worries and happenings!

Look forward to seeing you all next week and finding out what's going on in your world! :)

WILW and Oh How Pinteresting!

Happy hump day!
This week has been stressful so I need to focus on some of the good that's going on. Wednesdays are always a perfect day for that, so I'm getting right into my two fave link ups!

I'm loving all of the love and support from MG's and my family and friends about our move-in!

I'm loving that I'm making good headway on selling the majority of my living room furniture on craigslist. Not only is it something I won't have to worry about later on as it gets closer to moving day, I'm getting some extra cash in my pockets (and perhaps ticking off my annoying roommate in the process). All wins!

I'm loving  Pinky for coming over yesterday to be my "buddy" while a random craigslist person came by to get my bookcases. I don't wanna be the victim of the next Craigslist killer, and what better person to have there than this chica to kick his butt if need be (or roomie's for that matter)?
Love ya, girlie!!!

I'm loving that I am making the best of my crazy testing mayhem madness at work. After not having access to my office for the last two weeks, I've had a lot of testing to catch up on. Just call me a lean, mean, testing machine!

I'm loving the yummy meal MG and I made last night. It's a repeat of what we made here. SOOOO good, you need to try it!

I'm loving that tomorrow is Trish and my THIRD week of hosting our Virtual Happy Hour, Thirsty Thursday! So come by tomorrow and link up with anything you want to share!!

And, as always I'm loving Pinterest!

This week I've been pinning...

Roommate from Hades....part 65939247493

Well....the roommate situation has come to a head. I had emptied out the shelves to my bookshelves in the living room in preparation to sell them (given, I didn't notify her that this is my plan but a....we don't talk, and b....she didn't tell me when she listed her room on craigslist in October, so I didn't feel too bad).
I came home from the weekend to find that she had taken it upon herself to decorate the bookshelves with pictures of her and her family and friends, and various knick knacks.

And a fish bowl. With a fish in it:
It's the perfect height for Cooper to sniff him out/knock it over. (Did I mention she's smart?)

This is about what she looked like when
I opened the door....
I came home from work to find that she had moved my picture frame (again), and drank more of my water bottles as well as some of the beer that I had in the fridge. So I left a note on her door asking her to replace them and to ask before she helped herself to things (aren't I a B?)

When she got home, she knocked on my door and said we needed to talk since things were "awkward." And then she told me that I'm passive aggressive (hmmm, by ignoring you??), and that she has felt uncomfortable in the apartment since she moved in (really? is that why we went to happy hours when you moved in and you repeatedly invited me out with your sister? and only got weird when I started dating MG?).

She then asked "Did you leave that frame out {the one about rude people} to remind YOURSELF to me nice, or was it directed at me?" and I said "No, it was directed at you" and then I tried to explain to her how I didn't appreciate having my things moved, having her go into my closet, etc. Then she started talking over me and telling me that I'm a psycho.
I told her it had been weird since back in October when she listed the apartment and she goes "You waited til NOW to bring that up?" and I said "No, I asked you about it then, and if everything was ok, something was wrong, and you said nothing was".....she started talking over me again, told me that I make it uncomfortable in the apartment for her (Um, hello...which one of us leaves 5 nights or more during the week???). When I tried to tell her that, she stormed into her room and slammed the door in my face as I'm trying to talk to her and locks the door, like I'm going to bust in after her.
Then she opens the door and tells me she just wants to do her own thing and be left alone (Ummm...isn't that what we HAVE been doing? That's all I've been hoping for...and for her to stop being a messy slob!)

I later hear her in the living room removing all of her junk from my bookcases (which is ok with me since someone is coming to buy them tomorrow--less work for me!), and then I hear her on the phone telling her friend how she told me that "We don't have to be friends, we just need to be nice to each other"....Uhhh BS!!!! She NEVER said that. She was too busy being rude, talking over me, and slamming her door.

I think, from what she's said, that she thinks that I was pressed to be her friend, and when she decided that she didn't want to be friends (aka, when I got a boyfriend), that I was upset and distraught over it, so I started being "mean" to her (by ignoring the stupid things she does). She really thinks that this is all about her not wanting to be friends with me and that I'm devastated by it. Instead of about trying to figure out what's happened to make her be so upset and act this way so we could live civilly. Moron.

Let me just put this out there. I've never been that in need of a friend. I have great friends, and I don't need a spoiled brat, who is one of the most rude individuals ever known, as my friend.  Or in my life at all. No thanks.

So, what this comes down to is, she is deluded. And I have to deal with her for roughly two more months.

I'm in the process of listing the common area stuff on craigslist before she can destroy any of it. You know, more than laying wet clothes on leather destroys things.....(idiot).

Hopefully this is the last that you all hear about this....Heaven only knows that I'm tired of dealing and/or talking about it! I just thought I'd update you all on the extremely irrational blow up. In which I'm a "psycho" haha.

Oh, and she left the note I put on her door in shreds on the floor in the kitchen. (And I'm the passive aggressive one, right?)

In the meantime, we'll see how much longer trash and dishes lay around dirty, like the pizza box from March 10th that she ordered...

Please, dear God in Heaven....make her stop being such a buttface. And let July get here soon. PLEEEEEEASE!
