This is for the sole purpose of needing to vent. I apologize for the massive rant, but it needs to be done for my stress-level and sanity. Because if I don't, I might explode and end up in jail. Haha, just kidding....kind of :)
If you read through to the end, you will be entertained, and amazed, that someone like this actually exists.
Dear Roommate,
You might be THE rudest person I know. I have done absolutely nothing to you, throughout the last 9 months, for us to be in the situation we are in now. I have never said anything rude to you, or asked you to do anything that isn't something that's naturally expected when you live with someone. I've given you a Christmas gift (of which, you gave me nothing), I got you something nice and small for your birthday to make you feel special (of which, you didn't even acknowledge my birthday), and I even gave you a small thing of candy for Valentine's Day (given, it was leftover candy that I wasn't going to eat, but still, I was nice enough to share). During those times you were nice to me, and now I understand why: cuz I was giving you things and doing things FOR you. I know you're used to being handed everything. Since you were 23 when you moved in and on your SECOND Mercedes, I'm guessing you are used to the finer things in life. But, I hate to tell you, there are people who have been given a lot of things and are still nice people. You are not one of them.
I think you also need to remember that YOU were the one who listed your room on craigslist WITHOUT TELLING ME. I guess you thought I would never see it, but guess what? I happened to, and you looked like a jerk. Since your reason was that it was more expensive to live here than you thought it would be (*cough cough* you drive a Mercedes C300), maybe you should try turning off the lights sometimes when you're not home, not running the dishwasher with only a few things in it or not doing laundry for one towel. Just a thought.
When you have people come to stay, you should let your roommate know so they don't come home to a random stranger in their home. You should also probably attempt to clean up after yourself and them within a day or two. Not a week or more later. You also should clean out MY vacuum when you use it, so that when I go to use it, I dont have to clean up all of YOUR gunk. It would also be nice if you'd put it back. And hey, how about when you're done using MY swiffer, that you take the dirty pad off of it rather than just leaving it on the swiffer itself on the floor? Just a thought.
Oh, and you know those Tupperware of mine that you've been using, and refuse to put back in the cupboard (and told me once, legit, that "I didn't know where they went....or something"....yet you know where they are when you use them)? Since you "don't know where they go", I put them permanently "away"...somewhere where you don't need to use them. (Yes, I pulled a teacher move on you--if you dont know how to use it, you dont GET to use it.) And how about the NINE wine bottles you left open and half empty on the counter for 5 months? You think you could have thrown those away without me needing to leave you a note? I guess you like bugs. I don't.
It would also be LOVELY if you would shut the door to my bathroom when you are done using the laundry in there. I really dont like going to use the bathroom and having to check to see if the door is open. Plus, your hamster has come in there and pooped on my floor. I noticed you also never cleaned that up. Let me tell you, it was a LOVELY little gift to come home to after Jamaica. Just lovely. Speaking of your hamster, perhaps a good place for him to sit overnight is not on the DINING ROOM TABLE! And it would be lovely if you picked up his little shavings from his cage from the floor under the table and the counter in the kitchen. Im not sure why they are underneath the counter in the kitchen. I suppose you thought the kitchen counter was also an appropriate and sanitary spot for him to be.
As for your laundry habits, I'm not sure who taught you that an appropriate place to lay clothes out to dry is on your roommate's LEATHER COUCHES, but it's not. If you'd like to lay out your wet clothes on furniture, I suggest trying your bed. Otherwise, perhaps a smarter alternative would be to get a drying rack! I'd appreciate not having mold growing in my leather couches. Thanks. Also, you might want to take the lint out of the dryer. Im sure you don't realize that that can start a fire, but it can. Smokey the Bear would not approve.
Hey, if you take my bottles of water, it would be nice if you TOLD ME and REPLACED them rather than pretending that you didn't. I know that you did, and if it was anyone else, I wouldn't care. But I know that if I even moved something of yours, you would have a fit about it. So how about you stop taking my things?
I'm also sorry that you feel like I don't take out the trash/recycling as much as you do. You also need to realize that you have made it incredibly awkward and uncomfortable to be at the apartment so I am only there about 2 nights a week. If the trash is full then, I take it out, and if it gets full when I'm gone, I'm sorry. Realistically, I dont contribute much to the trash or the recycling since Im rarely ever at the apartment anyway. If you want me to do more, just ask. Don't be passive aggressive about it and expect me to read your mind.
Also, I would like to point out that I wrote you a note the other morning that said I would empty the dishwasher when I got home from work--I just didn't have time in the morning. Why then, you thought it was necessary to go through and take out ONLY YOUR plates and cups, is beyond me. There was no reason for that, and I get it: you've drawn the line in the sand. Excellent.
I find it funny to overhear your convo's on the phone, complaining about how someone gave you a dirty look in the elevator at work, or someone didn't say "thank you" profusely enough when you complimented her boots on the street. Or that one of your classmates said something rude to you. I'm surprised you are able to recognize what "rude" looks like. Your life must be SO hard. Perhaps you should look at how you treat everyone else, though.
I am counting down the days (56 to be exact) until I am done with you and all of your childish nonsense. I hope that your parents know what an outstanding child they've raised and are proud of your actions.

Weekend Recap
Oh my goodness, you guys, how is it Monday already? And why am I SO tired? Oh right, it's because I was going non stop ALL weekend....at least, that's how it seemed anyway! I'm gonna recap for you as best I can, so here goes:
Friday MG and I picked up his best friend from the train station in DC since he was coming in town to visit. We had a fun ride back to MG's place, decided to stay in and have a few drinks, catch up, and ended up playing card games until 1am. Fun night!
Saturday we were all feeling a bit hurt since we had been drinking for quite some time. We lazed around for a while and all of a sudden it was noon and I needed to leave in order to get ready for a get-together with some of my old coworkers. Well, I go outside to find that my moonroof is open, and then I see things strewn about inside of my car. Great. Someone got into my car....and it was partially our fault. My key fob's battery to my car has been dying so it doesnt always lock or unlock when you click the button. Since MG had been driving my car when we went to pick up his friend, and we were all happy and distracted when we got back to his place, I wasn't as hyper-vigilant as I normally am to hear the lock "horn" go.
Lucky for me the jerks only took two pairs of sunglasses (both from target so not a huge deal) and an aux cord for my Ipod. They did, however, decide to smoke cigarettes in my car, leave the butt of one on the floor on the passenger side (subsequently burning the carpet there), spit on my back seats, and just take things out of their places and throw them around my car as well as dumping water into my console's cup holders. They didn't take my GPS, or any of my tools in the trunk so I think it was kids just being jerks. Still sucks...esp since my car now smells like I am a chain smoker (which I am definitely not). Even though nothing was overall damaged, thankfully, it still feels like I've been violated. I can't help it when I'm in my car now, thinking of the jerkface who was doing all of this in my car. Gross.
So...I went from MG and his friend and I cleaning up that mess to run home, change and head to my coworker's function. It was a lot of fun to see everyone and I had a great time! We caught up, ate some yummy food, and played some games. Before you know it, it was 6 and I had to leave to make it back to my place, shower, and get ready to head out for Miss P!nky's bday celebrations in DC!
I got myself all purrrrtied up for the bday girl, and headed into the city with a friend of mine. We grabbed a couple of drinks at a bar while we waited for P!nky to get into the city, and then met up with her, her friends and her two awesome sisters! I had heard about these sisters of pinky's (sporty spice and baby spice as she dubs them on her blog), but I hadn't met them and BOY am I glad that I did. They are some cool chicas and we had a fab time! Perhaps too fab of a time because I apparently left my wallet in the cab when I got dropped off at home.

Needless to say, I am feeling like I have not been having the best of luck the past week. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my luck turns around this week cuz I really could use a break from this junk lol.
Despite the icky stuff, I was glad I was able to make it out for my bloggie-to-real-life friend's bday, meet her sisters, and celebrate the day that she made it into this world!
This girl is one of the sweetest chicks I know--she listens to me complain, gives great advice, gets my silly sense of humor, keeps me entertained through the week on gchat, and I just loves her to pieces!! :)
Happy Birthday, p!nky!!
Sunday was a day of recovery, smacking myself on the head for leaving my dang wallet (but somehow took out all of my cash from my wallet--I guess when paying the cab driver), and then ended the night grilling with MG and our couple friends who live next door to him. At least it was a good ending to a rough weekend!
I'm now off to hope that my week goes a little better than how it was this weekend!
I hope you all had lovely weekends!
PS, go link up for Mingle Monday at:

I got an award, y'all!
Ok I'm back for my second post of the day because things have slowed down a bit at work (aka, kids have gone home for the day! Hooray!!) and because the sweet Shay over at sweet silver linings nominated me for a blog award! Woop woop! Thank you, girl--you are too kind! :)
1. My favorite color, for about as long as I can remember, has been purple. I have no idea why, but I love it! So much so, that my bedspread is purple, and a significant portion of my closet has some hue of purple (purple-pink, dark purple, etc etc). I love that it is a "royal" color, and it tends to make my blue eyes pop a bit more than other colors. Woop for eye pops!
2. Although I wouldn't consider myself OCD, I guess I have some habits that might fall under that category. One of those being, that my closet, which is filled with TONS of shirts (yet I never have anything to wear!), is color coordinated. All of my white shirts are together, all of my blue shirts, green shirts, etc. Obsessive Compulsive? Maybe. Totally organized? Absolutely! (Maybe if I remember when I get home, I will take a snap shot of this for you, until then, you will just have to visualize!)
3. One of my nicknames is "jamiffer" which is part of one of my email addresses. When I give this to people, I often get a look or comment of "what? M? Two f's?" Well, it came from back in middle school, when my BFF's mom got me an xmas present. Apparently in her haste, she wrote my name on the card super duper fast. When my friend went to get the present for me, she looked at the nametag and said "Jamiffer???? Mom, did you write JAMIFFER?" To which a ton of laughing ensued, and the name has stuck with me ever since. My friend still calls me jamiffer ("jammie", "jam" or some other version of jamiffer) to this day. I even had it printed on my senior t-shirt in HS.
4. I've never broken a bone in my body (knock on wood!...just watch me get hit by a bus on my way home from work today...)lol
5. I'm an only child and for the longest time I only ever wanted to have one kid whenever I got married. I've since decided that two is the perfect number for me, because as you get older, it's nice to have a sibling around and wish that I had at least one to pal around with now. MG is 1 of 3 and has said he'd like 3. We'll see about that. I'll have the first two and when he can figure out how to give birth to the 3rd one himself, then I might agree to a 3rd haha
6. I had a regular old goldfish that lived 7 years, and coincidentally was named Lucky. I got him when I rescued him from being fed to my at-the-time-bf's bigger fish. He survived that as well as a fishbowl "drive-by" by my family's cat who knocked over the bowl one night, and somehow lived through the night in the tiniest amount of water ever with one of those fishbowl houses on top of him. He was a good little fishy!
7. I love online shopping...so much so that I even got both of the guys in my life from online. WHAT?? No, MG wasn't a mail-order-boyfriend/hubby, but you all know that I met MG (Match Guy) on Match.com. So there's that explanation, but here's the story of the other "guy" in my life: Cooper. I bought my cutie pie pup, without ever having seen him. I had been obsessed with getting a miniature or toy poodle for a while, and had been spending much of my free time gawking, cooing and generally ooh'ing and aah'ing over puppies at puppyfind.com for far too long when I came across pictures that I couldn't resist. These pictures to be exact:
One of the premises around receiving this award was to share 7 random facts about myself, so here goes....
The facts... (pardon me if some of these are repeats from other blog awards--I can't remember what random facts I have/have not shared with you all).

So, that's the story of my internet "men"....I guess I took "online shopping" to a new level! :)
Random enough for you? I sure hope so!
And now I'm off to read some more blogs get back to work!
Fun Photo Friday
It's Fridayyyyyyy! Woooohooooo! Another week at work survived, and more importantly, the first week back from vacation was survived. A few jeans days/spirit week definitely helped to make it an easier transition back!
I'm busy testing kids and getting ready for our state testing situation, so I don't have a ton of very interesting things to write about today (sad face), but I knew I had enough time to participate in Fun Photo Friday over at Page: Twenty Two.

Since it's my first week back, and there have been lots of questions surrounding how the spring break was, and what I did, I have been reminiscing about (and desperately wishing I was back in) Jamaica. So, for my Fun Photo, I bring you one of my favorite shots from MG's and my trip to Jamaica, which may or may not be the background on my computer screen!

Ahhh....it makes me desperate for warm breezes and tropical drinks just looking at it!
And now, I must depart back to work. Boo!
Oh, but before I go, don't forget that Trish and I are hosting our link-up starting next Thursday (the 19th) for Thirsty Thursdays: Happy Hour, so come by and link up with us and share!
Have a happy weekend!!!
It's OK...
Hey, hello, and how are ya?? Happy almost Friday Thursday! I've got some things going on that have been stressing me out, and since I haven't done an "It's OK" post in a bit, I figured now would be a good time to let it all out!

It's OK....
.....to feel like everything comes tumbling down at once, and not really know how to handle it...
......to look out for yourself, because it's YOUR job to make sure that you're doing ok and healthy!
....to be totally bummed that MG's going on a work trip to Florida Mon-Wed next week. It's only three days, but his friend is coming into town this weekend, too, which means I won't be seeing much of him after tonight. Total sad face.
....to just need a hug...
....to be excited for two jeans days in a row at work! (I swear, it's the small things that keep me happy)...
....to be pushed to a point of really needing/wanting to confront my roommate about her habits and actions in our apartment, and worry about the confrontation (I HATE confrontation) all day, and then not even hear when she got home....
....to be really excited for Trish and my Happy Hour link up starting NEXT Thursday!! So come over and link up with us!!

....to wonder where the heck Spring disappeared to? It was nice and warm, even hot, before I left for Jamaica, and I came back to 50's and 60's. It was in the 30's this morning!
.....to refuse to pull the winter coat back out of the closet, so you just wear a sweatshirt underneath your lighter jacket (and subsequently look like you packed on some weight haha)...
...to be excited for Miss P!nky's birthday celebrations this weekend! April 15th, she finally becomes as old as this lady!!! #toocloseto30! :)
.....to be INCREDIBLY glad that my dad is continuing to feel, sound, and look better! Yay for new meds and a good-feeling dad!
....to have the support of all of you out there. You have no idea how much it helps to know I have people like you all to reach out to, and have you reach back! You all rock!
Ahhh...I feel a little bit better already! :)
WILW and Oh How Pinteresting!
Happy Wednesday! I'm SO glad that it's already the middle of the week. Starting the work week on a Tuesday is DEF the way to go! (Hear that, universe?? Make it happen!)
I'm gonna jump right in and get to some of the things I'm loving and pinning this week:

I'm gonna jump right in and get to some of the things I'm loving and pinning this week:
I'm loving that MG's mom, sisters and nieces and nephew came down to visit last week. Despite the fact that MG had to work a good part of it, I had a great time hanging with them, playing tour guide, and becoming a human jungle-gym. It was nice to hear from his family that they (and the kids) love me (especially since they haven't really enjoyed any of the girls he has dated before). Having them all scramble for hugs when we said good-bye and tell us they were gonna miss us was really nice :)
I'm loving that I am surviving the first week back to work, despite it being hard and stressful.
I'm loving all of the support I got from my post yesterday about my decision to stay/leave my current job. Thank you all for your comments and for reaching out. It really means a lot to me.
I'm loving the yummy recipe (Shrimp and Artichoke Linguini with crispy breadcrumbs) I made from my Real Simple magazine last week. I'm still dreaming of it, and am definitely planning on making it again. SO yum!
I'm loving that I finally got some minty/baby blue nail polish to join on the blue/mint trend. I figured no better time to try out some robin's egg blue color than right around Easter, right??
I'm loving that my girl Trish at Tales from Trish and I are hosting our very own HAPPY HOUR link up next Thursday! It will be about anything and everything you would discuss at happy hour with your girl (or boy) friends! As we go along we MAY have certain topics, but overall it will just be whatever you want to post about for the day! So, head over next Thursday (and every Thursday after) for Happy Hour with us! CHEERS!
And, as always I'm loving Pinterest and all of the amazing things it has to offer!
This week I've been pinning...

Life Decisions....
Hey bloggie friends!
I'm coming to you from my desk at work....first day back at work in over two weeks and let me tell you, it was not easy getting "up and at 'em" this morning. But, I'm here, and I did it! And now that I'm back at work, it really feels like I wasn't gone at all (minus the fact that I am slightly more tan now than when I left....small victories!).
I've also been faced with a life decision, that I've been going back and forth with all school year, but especially this past week. Over break last week we received our offer letters for next year which included about a 12% increase in my salary from this year which equals out to roughly $7,000 more (if you are a math whiz you can figure out the pittance of a salary that I make now). I knew that after how many people left last year, and the fact that we had 5 teachers leave in the middle of the year (for reasons that did NOT have to do with moving or health issues...just due to sheer unhappiness), that the school was going to do something drastic to try and get people to stay. I also have to let them know by the 14th (aka, this Saturday).
I've been going back and forth with everything, mulling over the pros and cons of staying and leaving. And, really, the extra money would be nice (about an extra $380 a month), but it won't change my life a ton. The year round schedule is realllllly nice when we get two weeks off in October, 3 for winter break, and 2 for spring break--it definitely helps the year go by in a better way. And my caseload of about 45 kids (as compared to the 60+ kids I had in Virginia schools) is a bonus as well. But, other than that, there's really not that much I can say for staying.
I think what it comes down to is, I'm overall not happy here, and only see it getting worse, not better. Yesterday I also had the revelation that I really don't feel like I'm growing as a professional here. I'm not learning anything that's really useful (other than how to NOT lose my cool when people stress me out....this skill I have perfected over the past two years here), and that's really not ok. I'm too young to be stuck in a job that doesn't really offer me anything that will help me grow, and to help my students better.
I still was going back and forth about it after talking to a few friends. When I was talking to MG about it last night (while simultaneously scrolling through Pinterest), I told him how I had been going back and forth about it and he asked which way I was leaning. I said towards leaving my current job. And within a minute of that, I saw this:

I dunno if you believe in signs or not, but the irony that I've never seen this pin before until I was thinking and talking about this topic just struck me.
It's a saying I've heard before, and I really do believe. I'm not happy at my job, and maybe whatever next job comes along might not be any better, but I'll never know unless I try. I don't want to give up on having happiness at work. I want to get back to a place of loving my job and at least SOME of the people I work with. So, I think the best decision for me is to leave this place.
As with anything, there are risks involved, but I'd rather take a risk to find some semblance of happiness than stay stagnant in a situation I know is not getting any better, and isn't healthy for me emotionally or professionally.
Seriously, when did this whole "grown up" thing happen??? :)
