WHW {#94}

Happy Hump day! Boy do these days fly by when you have a newborn--I guess that makes sense when the day revolves around feeding, eating and sleeping (for the baby--and somehow fitting in all of the same for you, as well haha).
Around these parts, it's been a lot of baby (if you couldn't tell by my posts that are supremely baby-centered), but they've also involved a lot of tv watching since we're home, and semi-tied to baby currently.

Here's what I've been watching:

Catastrophe season 3--
{via}
have you seen this show? Are you a parent? If you haven't seen it, watch it--especially if you like sarcastic humor. Each season is only 6 episodes long which isn't enough, but it's a clever show and makes me laugh. The season ended on such a cliff hanger and now I have to wait forever for the next season!

Master of None
{via}
I love Aziz Ansari in general but I LOVE him in this show. I think it's a clever and cute show that makes you laugh. Another show that doesn't have enough episodes because I want to watch more and more. We tried to savor this and space them out, but ended up ripping through the second season in a matter of a few days. Highly recommend!

Southern Charm (the original)
This has been, and will likely continue to be, my guilty pleasure show. I love this cast of characters because they always give me something to chat about with my friends haha.
I said it before but I couldn't get into Savannah after the first episode. I forgot to record it on my DVR and I'm not upset about it.

RHONY
I almost gave up on this show a few seasons ago, but got sucked back in during a marathon and since then I've been on board. I enjoy their antics, but Ramona is a nut job and drives me a bit crazy.

Animal Kingdom
{via}
This one I happened to watch because MG was watching it while I was reading. I don't know if I'd recommend it--it's very dark and basically about a bunch of really messed up people within a family who do bad things and are just all around not nice people. I joked with MG that I felt dirty watching it lol.

Friday Night Lights
{via}
We'd always heard that this show was good, but for some reason never got into it. Well, thanks to maternity and paternity leave because we have torn through the first season (almost all the way) in the past couple of days and are obsessed. Can't wait to watch the rest--although it's going to be tougher when MG goes back to work since I won't be able to cheat watch while he's away.

Movies:

La La Land--
I actually liked it. It was better than I was thinking it would be, and made for a nice weekend afternoon movie. I found myself singing some of the songs to Ella later that day too :)

Hidden Figures--
Loved this movie! I loved learning about a piece of history that I had no idea about! MG and I were both fans of this one.

That's about it which seems like a lot, but when you spend a lot of time pumping and breast feeding, you have a lot of time to kill!

Before I go, I feel the need to add in a recent Ella pic because...well, just because :)
Snapchat is the most entertaining on baby faces--

Now it's your turn to link up with Jessi and I to share what's hap-"pinning" with you!

Spring Weekending Snaps

Happy Spring! I hope it actually feels like Spring where you are, unlike here in NoVa where the first day of Spring had a high of 45 for the day, was overcast and snow flurries in the forecast! #gohomespringyouredrunk
This weekend was pretty low key for me since MG was out of town at a Bachelor party, and lots of friends started their trips and vacations for Spring Break. The restful weekend was actually really nice, and gave me some time to just relax and be by myself.

My weekend highlights included:

~Celebrating the start of Spring Break with a little personal sized champs and pretty weather
~These yummy treats that my coworker brought in to work for me on Friday (they were so pretty I felt bad eating them....but that didn't stop me haha). I haven't eaten them all....yet.
~A relaxing night in catching up on all of my DVR shows, including RHOBH which I'd fallen asleep during last week (oops), and a super long, highly entertaining text convo with Brittany

~Saturday morning coffee date with my friend Lisa
~Watched The Best of Me with hottie James Marsden. It was good, but I wasn't expecting the ending. I also didn't mind all of the shots of James Marden in his tank tops #drool
~Lots of puppy cuddles
~An hour long phone convo/catch up with my bestie. Love that I get to see her next weekend!

~Watched our wedding video because I just wanted to see my dad, and I kind of wanted to do it while I was home alone

~Pizza and cheesy bread for dinner because it was mega rainy gross out and super cold and I didn't want to leave the house. And just because pizza:)
~Watched How to Train Your Dragon 2 which was still just as cute as the first one. I love Toothless!

~More puppy snuggles. Love me some Coop.
is there anything better??
~Funny texts from my husband. One of which included a text that they caught a "cab" on the way back from the casinos which ended up being a limo...only cost them $30 haha

~Seeing this incredibly beautiful painting that our friend painted. I told him we want one! :)
I'm so in awe of how talented he is and I'm obsessed with this painting!

~Waking up Sunday to 30 degree weather but thankfully no snow on the ground. I wouldn't be surprised if this was our forecast (saw this on Facebook):
~Did some laundry, and cleaned around the house, then ran errands for the week once MG got back home to kisses and tail wags (Ill let you figure out which ones I gave and which ones Coop gave :)

~Did some meditation with a new app I discovered, which was really calming and pretty incredible

~Started reading a new book thanks to Stephanie's recommendation the other week on her Show Us Your Books post (thanks, Steph!)

~Had a little sushi dinner with MG followed by finishing House of Cards before heading to bed. Oh my word, did the season end well!

And today I have a day date with my friend--lunch and shopping are on the docket and I can't wait!
Hope your weekend was just what you needed!

Friday Faves

Happy Friday, loves! We made it through another week and I survived my first full week back to work after Snowzilla happened!

{1} Movie
{via}
The book Me Before You is coming out as a movie!!! I absolutely LOVED this book--it gave me all the feels (if you haven't read it yet, do it!), so I'm so excited to see it in movie form. Plus it has Danaerys from Game of Thrones, Mister Bates from Downton and Finnick from Hunger Games in it!
My friend sent me the trailer yesterday!

{2} Favorite Recipe
Just look at all of the cheesy goodness in these delicious tacos. I would eat these in a heartbeat!

{3} Favorite Song
I heard this last week on Ellen and I was instantly humming it. Troye Sivan-Youth

{4} Surprise!
That my blog-to-IRL friend Lynn is coming into town this weekend! Her sweet hubby surprised her with a weekend getaway and I'll get to see her while she's in town! It's been too long since I've seen her pretty face, so this was a very pleasant surprise to get this week!

{5} Funnies

Weekending Highlights

Happy Monday, lovies! Hope your weekend was awesome and you're ready to take on the week!
{via}
My weekend highlights included:

~Friday date night at our favorite pizza spot
~Redbox'ed Inside Out and finally got to watch it (absolutely loved it!) with a fire going. Perfection!
~Slept in Saturday morning

~Picked up some paint samples at Home Depot for our bedroom, and made our selection (Urban Raincoat will be what we sleep and wake to)

~Went and saw The Revenant because MG was excited to see it. My thoughts? It was well done, and well acted, but it just wasn't my kind of movie. And it dragged in the middle a bit. Not my favorite.

~Got ready to head to my principal's house for a "Holiday Recovery Party"....were leaving and realized MG didn't have his wallet. Luckily it was at the movie theater so we swung by to get it, and everything was in it, including the money! Thank goodness for good people!

~Spent several hours with almost everyone I work with, and their significant others, and got to see my principal's huge house which had an elevator and a wine cellar! Super nice! #envy

~Went out in Old Town with some of my work friends and our husbands/boyfriends to Blackwall Hitch. Got to sit upstairs on the couches, listen to live music, and chat
~Stayed out way later than we'd planned to...oops!

~Had blueberry pancakes made by MG for breakfast

~Ran errands

~Started prepping the walls in the bedroom for painting (filling holes, removing old curtain rod holders, etc)

~Made lunch at home, and cheered on the Vikings (felt so bad for our friend who is a coach on the team and was standing outside in the -6 weather for the whole game. They said it was -25 with the windchill!) That was a tough loss to watch--so close!
~While our friends in MN were freezing, we went for a walk around the lake by our house since it was 63 degrees out--really liking all of these opportunities in the middle of "Winter" to be active outside
~Gave Cooper a bath and got to snuggle with his fluffy-ness!
~Watched the Skins/Packers game, another disappointment

~Made my easy stovetop chili recipe for dinner
~Watched the Golden Globes while eating the most delicious bowl of ice cream that ever was:
We didn't do a ton this weekend, but it was nice to accomplish a few things, see some friends, and have an easy weekend to relax after the first full week back at work.

Hoping your weekend was just as nice and restful!

Weekending Highlights

Happy Monday, friends!
{via}
This weekend was pretty relaxed, which was much needed since I spent all of last week sick.

My "highlights" this weekend included:

~getting these booties online; can't wait for them to get to my doorstep!

~ordering in Chinese food Friday night and watching Entourage with MG; and a pretty awesome fortune
~Finished book #2 of The Selection series

~watched some tv...Cooper likes Bravo too
~Saturday errands

~Getting out of the house for a super delish dinner at Sweetwater Tavern (and leftovers for lunch the next day): lobster bisque and their signature bacon cheeseburger with wicked sauce

~Reading book #3 of The Selection in one day (soooooo good)...with some Cooper snuggles

~a little Loft online shopping, thanks to the encouragement of Pinterest Told Me To; this gem was my primary reason for shopping the sale
~some house cleaning and laundry

~Nyquil, cough syrup, tissues, and hot tea

~went for a 3.5 mile walk with MG to get in a little bit of exercise on my sicky weekend

~watched some football

~made chili Sunday night at the request of MG (woohoo for lots of delicious leftovers today!)
~took it easy the rest of the night and rested up for the week

I'm glad we had a weekend at home where I could be lazy around the house. My body definitely needed it, and even though I'm not 100% better (that pesky cough is still lingering) I feel a LOT better than I did last week.

Hope your weekend was healthy and fun!

Weekending Highlights

Happy Monday, friends! How was your weekend? Despite the crummy weather, mine was pretty good!
{via}
My weekend highlights included:

~Friday date night with MG to Bonefish where I ordered some yummy bang bang shrimp tacos, and we splurged on the pumpkin creme brûlée dessert (usually not a huge pumpkin consistency fan, but this was super delish!)
~Finished the last couple episodes of Homeland's last season

~Saturday morning of coffee, Cooper snuggles and blankets since we hadn't turned on the heat yet (but were forced to when it was 62 in the house)
~Returned some things to Loft, and then got this super comfy and cute cardigan from Target with the leftovers of a gift card (cost me $1.90 out of pocket!). Thanks for the rec, Amanda!
~Saw The Martian with MG, my good friend from work and her husband--it was very good, and really well done...the reclining seats didn't hurt the experience either :)
~Had dinner at the Wegman's Pub with our friends afterwards--the burgers were mega delicious!

~Sunday morning started early with Cooper whimpering and acting odd--got up at 7 and took him out where he threw up. Not a great start to his birthday. :(

~Ran errands which began with a stop at Starbucks for my first PSL of the season!
~Cooper got a birthday bath before getting his birthday presents (and was luckily feeling better than he had that morning)
~Did a little vacuuming around the house, and lit some Fall candles
~bought some cute Fall decor online--can't wait for it to arrive!
~Went to a local bar to watch the Skins-Eagles game which is our fun, inter-house rivalry (my team won :)
~read more of The Royal We--seriously loving this book

~Had a light, low-key dinner at home

~watched the first episode of The Good Wife (first time watching it as the season airs instead  of binge-watching episode after episode)

~Off to bed to rest up for another week ahead!

I hope your weekend had nicer weather than we did here, and was filled with fun!
