What's Hap-"Pinning" Wednesday {#42}

Happy Wednesday friends! It's a glorious day out today with our SECOND day in a row of sunshine! Things are looking brighter around here--literally and figuratively! :)
Since it's Wednesday, you know it's your chance to link up with Jessi and I to share what's hap-"pinning" with you lately!
I don't know if you've noticed, but there have been some MAJOR sales lately. Old Navy had 40% off on Friday with free shipping, and Loft had a Flash Sale on Sunday/Monday with 40% off new arrivals, 60% off sale items, AND Free Shipping (which they rarely offer other than during Christmas).
So, needless to say, my credit card has been getting a workout. But I figured I'd share with you some of the items that I picked up and am eagerly awaiting the arrival of on my doorstep!
//Old Navy Finds//
These two tops have cute and fun details to them. I got the black top in white, and it has small pom poms on the bottom.
And I found a denim jacket, which I'd talked about last week, so hopefully this one works!
{via}                                   {via} (in white)                              {via}
I thought this dress was too cute to not try and see if it works once it gets here, and I got the cross body bag for something like $18 and figured it would be good for our Greece/Turkey trip this summer.
{via}                                                      {via}
Total with taxes: $76

//Loft Finds//
Again, I feel like I hit the mother load when they sent out this flash sale announcement plus free shipping. I immediately found a bunch of things that I liked.
 And I may have loved that bottom left swing top (#3) so much that I got it in this color, too:
Swing Tank
Total with taxes: $112
And because I'm terrible, and have no self restraint, I went back on Monday and found these two accessories and quickly added them to my bag and checked out:

Total with taxes: $28
Needless to say, I'll be putting myself on a tight leash when it comes to any sales coming in the near future, but I feel like I got some great stuff (if it all works out) for just over $200. And almost all of it could be taken with me on our trip this summer #win!

Now it's your turn to link up with us and share what's hap-"pinning" with you!

What's Hap-"pinning" Wednesday {#41}

Happy Wednesday friends! Since it's the middle of the week, you know what time it is! Link up with Jessi and I and share what's hap-"pinning" with you--it can be anything, it doesn't have to be Pinterest-related!
I've been loving the white, navy and gray combinations because you can accessorize with so much, and especially when you can add in some denim. I've decided I need a denim jacket for a good layering piece, especially since our weather can't get it together lately.
{via}                                               {via}                                          {via}

And I also love a good pop either in the form of color or patterns, especially for those warmer weather outfits!
{via}                                               {via}                                        {via}
And you know after last year, I love a good romper, like this one to dress up or down:
Let's hope that the weather catches up with the time of the year so I can start wearing some stuff similar to these instead of things that go with rain boots and umbrellas haha!
What are some of your favorites for warmer temps?

Now it's your turn to link up with us and share what's hap-"pinning" with you!

What's Hap-"Pinning" Wednesday

It's Wednesday which means it's time for another round of What's Hap-"Pinning" with Jessi and I!
Did you guys see the Loft sale starting Sunday morning? 40% off AND Free shipping! That free shipping with Loft only seems to come around once a year (Christmas-time), so I was mega surprised and hopped onto my computer to make some purchases as soon as I saw that email.

I'll show you what I got, and then I'm gonna rant a little bit about how Loft ticked me off this weekend with their customer service (or lack thereof).

I have a major problem little obsession with tops. Once you have bottoms you have staples. Tops are what change up your outfits the most I think. And this is why my closet is jam-packed, but that's another story :)
Here's what was in my latest Loft haul:
I love the pretty coral color here and see it being a great transitional Spring piece
{via} $26.99
 This one will obviously be more for next season, but I loved the medallion sweater Loft had earlier this year, and if this is anything like that one, it'll have been worth getting it now for next year:
{via} $32.99
I figure this one will be hit or miss for me. I think it could look good paired under a blazer, or stand-alone with cute skinnies and wedges. We'll see how it fits when it arrives:
{via} $17.70
This one I KNOW is going to be gorgeous. I got it last year, when it wasn't on sale (it was $40 something) to bring my order up to get free shipping. I debated keeping it because the lace detail is SO cute, but I couldn't spend $40 on a t-shirt (remember that, Biana?) For $23, I'll take it tho! #cometomama
{via} $23.70
 This is just a standard tee, but I love Loft tees--and I love blush, so this one should be perfect!
{via} $20.70
*These are NOT affiliate links. This is just me sharing with you some of my finds, in case they intrigue you, too*

And now, here's my rant. I love Loft. I shop there at least once a month, usually, so friends get me gift cards to Loft (and so do kids' parents sometimes too). I went to use a $25 gift card when I checked out Sunday morning, and it was applied to my total. So I go to check out, with my credit card info entered and I get an error message. So then I had to wait until 9am for their customer service lines to open. I called multiple times between 9 and 9:40 and each time I called, I kept getting the message to call back during their "normal business hours" which were listed as 9am on Sundays.

While I was doing that, I was trying to get someone on their Online chat. I started off 3rd in the queue, then moved to 2nd....then back to 3rd.....then back to 2nd. And then for the next 30 minutes I was bounced back and forth between 2nd and 1st place before I finally gave up.

I removed my gift card from my order and lo and behold, it let me check out (even though my gift card was totally valid).
So I wrote a scathing email to their customer service (since no one actually seemed to be working), and got an email back the next day thanking me for inquiring about the balance of my gift card. Not at ALL what I'd written about.
I got in touch with customer service on Monday and the only thing they offered me was free shipping the next time I ordered, but I have to call and order it through one of their agents (so, apparently I can't call on the weekend since no one seems to work then). Needless to say, I was pretty ticked off. It was not very good customer service at all, not to mention the time I wasted trying to place this stupid order, and didn't even get to use my gift card. Their customer service has been really good in the past when my order has gotten switched with someone else's (twice!). This time was a big disappointment.

I never thought I'd say this, but I'll think twice before I order from Loft again. Well, after I use my stupid gift card....

Ok, now that that rant is over, it's your turn to link up and share what's hap-"pinning" with you! It doesn't have to be Pinterest related!

What's Hap-"Pinning" Wednesdays {#18}

Happy Wednesday, friends! Hopefully you're surviving the week back after Thanksgiving weekend ok. I was MIA yesterday because work was super busy on Monday and I got home to Cooper having been sick (again) all over the kitchen, so I didn't really feel like sitting down to write a post after cleaning that (and him) up. Hopefully he's almost done with this thing he caught from my in-laws' dog...it's not been fun for any of us.
Anyway, on to more fun things, like what's hap-"pinning" lately! Remember you can link up about ANYTHING--it doesn't have to be Pinterest related!

The first thing that's hap-"pinning" is MG's birthday today! We'll be going out to dinner tonight, somewhere casual, and then having a double-date/double-birthday dinner celebration with another couple friend of ours which should be so fun!
You all already know how much I love MG, and how thankful I am for him, so I'll spare you and just share a pic from the first birthday we celebrated together, 4 years ago:

The second thing that's been going on--like most of you, I participated in the Black Friday (online only) and Cyber Monday shopping events. Not only did I get some great deals, but I went through ebates, and earned 10% cash back on every one of the purchases I made through big retailers!

Here's some of what I got, for myself my closet, because I don't want to share what I got for MG since he may see this and then my surprises will be ruined.

Old Navy had 50% off, so I stocked up on these two vests:
{found here}, currently $17                                               {found here} currently $18
I loved the herringbone vest which is similar to the J Crew one, but the reviews on the recent J Crew vests have been less than stellar in terms of quality. The reviews on this one were awesome.
And the white vest will pair well with just about anything!

I snagged these two tops:
                                {via}                                           {via}, $32 (or $16 in two of the colors)

I got the yellow plaid shirt, currently $26.94, since I have the same flannel shirt just in another color and love it. I figured I'd venture out of my normal color scheme with the yellow.

And I've been ALLLLLL about the tunics lately (because, hello leggings!) so I grabbed this one, in cream, to wear with any of my colored fleece lined leggings for some comfy cozy-ness.

And because I wanted another active wear top, and pullover, I got these two:
{via}, $14.94                                                          {via}, $20

I love the fun back of the top, but they only had it in a medium in this color, so we will see if it fits me when it arrives. And I liked the dark cranberry color of the pullover (you all know my obsession this season with that color).

These prices are more than what I paid on the 50% off sale, but even at these prices, they're still a great deal.

And now, not only is it time to get back to shopping for other people, but it's also time to link up with Jessi and I below to share what's hap-"pinning" with you!

Weekending Highlights

How has another weekend come and gone? I'm seriously convinced that time is set on warp-speed ahead!
Part of which was probably the case because our weekend definitely was full of stuff, with some relaxation mixed in, too!

My weekend highlights included:

~Almost getting killed by a MetroBus on my drive home from work (I had a full on panic attack when I got home while I called Metro to tell them about what happened--so freaking scary!)

~Friday date night dinner with MG

~Going to my two friends' (who are sisters) birthday party where they had the entire top floor of the bar/lounge area--was super fun and great to catch up with and celebrate the birthday girls!

~Out past midnight (it's been a while since that happened)

~Rainy Saturday errands: Costco (where we ran into our friends we hung out with last weekend), Benjamin Moore and Home Depot

~Watched 4 episodes of Master of None, the new Aziz Ansari show on Netflix which was pretty funny--perfect for a rainy day
{via}
~Had dinner plans with a couple friend of ours in DC, but the girl came down with a cold, so we changed plans and went for Mexican food instead #nomnomnom So good!

~Had the perfect Fall evening: rented a movie, started a fire, had some red wine and cuddled on the couch with MG and Coop
~Sunday morning finally felt like Fall had arrived!

~Sunday house project: repainting the outside of the front door (which had been painted crappily by the previous owners). Looks much better now!
MG's painting clothes just happened to go with the blue door theme lol
~Got the deck furniture covered and put away until Spring

~Watched some football

~Went for a 3 mile walk with MG to take advantage of the pretty Fall day and get in some exercise; snapped some pretty pics along the way
~MG made home made burgers and home made fries for dinner (so so so good!)

~Purchased this beauty on a ridiculous discount, thanks to the Bloomie's sale and Amanda for informing me about it
{via} Early X-mas present to me?? :)
~got in a little reading time with my current book, watched a little tv, relaxed and rested up for another week!

I hope your weekend was full of beautiful Fall weather, friends and fun!

Rocksbox {#6}-Best One Yet!

I feel so behind on stuff lately! I know the last time I showed you guys what I got in my Rocksbox, I said the next one that I got was by far the best one and that I'd share it soon. Cut to at least a month later...oops!

But at least I'm sharing it today and BOY was it a great box! If I had all the money in the world (and hadn't been spending mondo money on things like the Nordstrom sale), I would have kept each of these pieces. As it was, I only kept one.

Moon and Lola Marseilles Necklace: $38
Kendra Scott Elle Earrings in Slate: $44- KEPT ($34 with my monthly spend)
Jules Smith Cage Arrow Bracelet in Gold: $30

I got SO much use out of this whole set! The necklace was super dainty and perfect to wear with almost every outfit.
The bracelet also went with any outfit, and added just a touch of bling!
And the earrings were the perfect statement piece for dressing up!

Here are just some of the outfits that I wore them with:
Everyday/Casual Friday:
 Double Date Night Out:
 Work day (obviously when it wasn't Fall)
 Baby Shower:
These all worked so well in different combinations with each other! I seriously should have just bought all of them!

I did feel like $38 was a bit pricey for how dainty the little necklace was (after all, it was just a curled wire), but it was still so simple and cute that it went with just about everything!
I wore the bracelet almost every day that I had this set because it was so wearable with every outfit that I had!
And the earrings, I've worn a touch less, because they 're more of a statement piece and not as much for everyday, but I love them just the same, and have gotten tons of compliments when I've worn them.

Hands down, this was my favorite Rocksbox to date!

Friday Faves

Happy Friday, and Halloween-eve! Hopefully the week wasn't too long or scary, and even if it was, it's Friday now so don't worry about it!

Let's talk some favorites from this week, shall we?
{1} Favorite New Fall Polish
You all know of my obsession over Essie's Bahama Mama polish a few weeks ago, but I have a new Essie favorite. Merino Cool is the perfect gray color, with a hint of purple to it--I'm obsessed!
the purple tint is harder to see in this photo, but in person, it's there
{2} Favorite Song
"Hello" by Adele
This song and all of the feels. I've had it stuck in my head since I heard it on Monday and have been playing it ever since. Adele, you know just how to pull on my heart strings!
(Fast Forward to 1:15 for the start of the actual song)
{3} Favorite Work Moment
Today I'm getting a new work laptop! This might not seem like a big deal, but I've had mine for the last 4 years (and it was around a couple before I got it). It's slower than slow, doesn't hold a charge, and freezes randomly. I'm SUPER excited to have a fully functioning brand spanking NEW laptop for work. Just in time for Report Cards! (it's the little things in life, right?)

{4} Favorite Flats
{via}
Thanks to Jess, I purchased these adorable nude flats the other day from Target. I have a patent leather pair but they hurt my feet when I wear them for a long time. I have these pair in the camel color and they're super comfy!
Thanks, Jess, for the great find!

{5} Funnies
When you want to keep all of the Halloween chocolate to yourself
{via}
When you unexpectedly walk into someone else's cloud of fart in public
{via} Shout out to Jem and the Holograms!!
When you order something online and then get the dreaded email that they can't fulfill your order for this reason or that reason
{via}
When playing with your food happens to fit in with the upcoming holiday
{via} don't pretend like you never did this with Bugles growing up!
Hope you have a great Halloween weekend, and nothing too spooky happens to you! If my school costume comes out the way I plan it to, I'll share that with you guys on Monday!

What's Hap-"Pinning"? Wednesday {#13}

Happy Hump Day! It's Wednesday which means that it's time for another round of What's Hap-"Pinning" with Jessi and I!

You can link up about ANYTHING that's happening (it doesn't have to be Pinterest-related), grab our button to show us some love, and link up  below! Easy peasy!

What's hap-"pinning" around these parts is the most recent Loft sale (although, to be fair, I feel like they have a sale almost every day lately--no complaints here...except maybe from my wallet). So I figured I'd share with you some of my most recent Loft purchases at 40% off:

This necklace--I love the tassel detail, and the light pink stone. I can see getting a lot of wear out of it:
Gem Tassel Necklace
This sweater/shirt is already on its way to my doorstep (arriving today!) and I'm probably the most excited about this piece out of my purchases! It's been sold out at least twice since going on their website, and was sold out as of Tuesday morning. Hopefully it comes back in stock so you can get your hands on it, too!
Medallion Mixed Media Sweater
I admit it. I have a problem. It's called: I'm obsessed with stripes. Black and white stripes are such a good backdrop for so many things: vests, scarves, cardigans....I have too many stripes in my closet...well, one more won't hurt, right?
Striped Long Sleeve Tee
I already have a lighter chambray shirt, which I LOVE (also from Loft...I know you're surprised by that one), and I wanted to add a darker one to my closet. Hoping this one turns out super cute...I could totally pair that necklace above with it too. Or my new booties that I showed you here...?
Chambray Tunic Softened Shirt
You all know how much I LOVE my striped tunic (dang, there's the obsession again) from Loft that I talked about here. A lot of you loved it, too. This is just a light gray tunic top. I can see pairing it with navy or cranberry leggings and some black or brown boots, or darker skinny jeans. I love tops like this that are soft and make you feel cozy all day.
Relaxed Turtleneck Tunic
This one comes in 5 other colors, too.

And this one didn't make it into my shopping cart, but I totally want to get them and attempt to rock them. Something about this pattern just makes me happy:
Foulard Pencil Pants
Just to round out this clothing-heavy post, I found a couple of quotes that I loved.

In light of Halloween approaching, I thought this one was pretty funny
{via} SO scary! haha
And this one just made me smile
{via}
Now it's your turn to link up with Jessi and I and show us what's hap-"pinning" with you!
