I love that he has a resting smile :)

I warned you it was going to be a puppy-filled post! He's the sweetest little puppy ever. I'm so glad that we got to see him so tiny before he gets bigger.

I hope that even if your weekend wasn't puppy-filled, it was still fantastic :)

Golden Poodle Birthday

Today is the day!
No, that is not a real hat...
My little Cooper is celebrating his Golden Birthday today. He's turning 4, on the 4th!
I can't believe it's already been almost 4 years since I took this little guy home in the car, all the way from Alabama. It's hard to imagine what my life was like without him.

I know everyone says that they have the best dog, and I'm no different. Cooper is the most loving, friendly, playful and fun pup I've ever met.

He loves people, animals....basically anything that moves. He's wonderful with kids (altho sometimes the little little guys get kinda nervous since Cooper has trouble containing his excitement and wiggles when he sees a human that's Cooper-sized), and he's seriously the best dog I could have ever asked for.

Coop and I have been through a lot together--he's been my comfort through break-ups, the excited tail wiggle when I walk in the door after a long day, my warm spot (in my arms, and in my heart), and the continual bright spot in my life.

Two years ago on his 2nd birthday
Coop is a special little soul. He's my doggy soul mate, and I love him more than words can express!

Happy birthday, Coopy!!!!
My life wouldn't be the same without you!

A Very Cooper Christmas!

I was having a liiiiiiiittle bit too much fun with my computer and picnik today. And, all of a sudden, I had a Christmas card from Cooper:

Goodness, he's cute. And I'm not biased. Not at all! :)

Cooper is ready for Christmas!

Ok, I hope that helped increase your cuteness intake for the day, and put a smile on your face. I'm off to continue a cuddle session with that little lovebug! :)

Weekend Recap

Hey all! Happy Monday! This post is coming to you from my bed. Why? Because I'm sick, and even managed to lose my voice in the process. Bah! Today's gonna be spent with cough medicine, tea, and soup for me.

Other than getting sick, my weekend was both fun and scary. Confused? Let me explain...

Friday was MG's 30th birthday party which I had been looking forward to/planning for months. I rushed home on Friday after work and MG picked me up at the metro (what a good boyfriend!), and then dropped me off at my place to get showered and ready. But not before asking me if he could take Cooper, my cuddly loveable pup, with him while I did my thing (I love that he loves my dog!) So, after getting ready I headed over and we ate some pizza and then headed to his friend's going away happy hour for a little bit before making our way to MG's party. The HH was a lot of fun, and nice to catch up with some people--and all of MG's buddies started trying to get him drinks and shots.

I had had MG promise to remain sober-ish until around 10 because, if you remember, I had a surprise for him: his two friends from back home (who now live in Jersey and NY) were coming down to celebrate, after having told him they weren't coming (teehee!) To be honest, this was the part that I was looking forward to most--seeing MG's face when his friends came in, and let me tell you...it was SO great! He was surprised and really happy that they were there with him.
MG and some of his friends

I also loved that some of my friends showed up (all friends who have met/hung out with MG) including my friend Em and her husband Steve (whose wedding was MG's and my first trip "away" together), my friend Trish and her beau (from Tales from Trish, and another friend from around here. We had SUCH a good time, and I loved that all of my friends, who are from completely separate parts of my life, all got along SO well! It was so much fun!

After all of the partying, we all went home, and MG's two buddies (and one's gf) came back to MG's place where we blew up an air mattress and somehow ended up staying up until well past 4am. (Could be the reason why I'm sick today. Boo!) Saturday was spent in recovery once the guys and gf left.  By late afternoon, MG and I made it out to get food and went to see The Descendants, the new Clooney movie. It was really good! I recommend it!

Sunday morning started off with a scare, though. While making coffee in the kitchen, Cooper came into the room on his stomach...kind of crawling, but down on the ground, his back legs behind him. He was shaking and apparently, was having a seizure! He'd never had a seizure before (at least not that I'm aware of), and he was completely stiff, shaking and I felt totally helpless to help him. While it was happening I called the emergency number of the vet and the doctor on call said to make an appointment with the vet once they opened at 10 to get Coop checked out (luckily at this point he seemed ok...was just confused and staying close in my lap). We took him to the vet, and she said he looked good neurologically, and seemed to be acting normally (Cooper was wiggling, and sooooo happy--he loves the vet). We are going to wait and hope that it was a one-time thing. If it happens again we'll probably have to get him an MRI and contemplate seizure meds. Hopefully my little guy will be ok and never have to deal with it again.

I always knew how much I loved my Cooper, but it became even more clear when all of this happened. He's a big bright spot in my life, and so many other people's. He's the dog that will make people who don't like animals, love him. He's great with kids and SUCH a people person. He's got the sweetest disposition I've ever seen in a dog. And he's my little lovebug. I'm glad that he's ok, and I hope that it stays that way, because my life, and several other people's, just wouldn't be the same as it is with him and his little wiggle-butt in it!

So, that was my weekend. Now I'm gonna go make some tea, try to stop coughing, and get my voice back. And spend a lot of cuddle time with my little Coop monster! Hope you have a good start to the week!

Tuesday Cute-Day

Happiest of Tuesdays, everyone!

Not much is going on lately since I'm on summer break. I spent some time at the pool, did some reading, caught up on some DVR, and got a smoothie. Yeah, I'm living the life.

So, since not much is going on, I figured I'd do another installment of cuteness for your viewing pleasure! (all courtesy of Pinterest :

herrooo!

you know you'd wanna hug him too!!

I believe this one sums up how teachers feel during the summer...
Hope you all enjoyed the cuteness and are having great summer-time fun!
I'm off to do some reading on my deck....catch ya on the flip side!!

Cooper's Adventure in Education

Happy Thursday, everyone! It is SCORCHING hot here in DC....they said yesterday was gonna be bad, but today it is SO much worse. It makes me glad that I decided to drive to work today, but that choice wasnt because of the heat, it was because I brought Cooper, my sweet, people-loving mini-poodle to work with me today.

I had seen an article a few weeks ago about little dogs like Coop being brought into schools so that kids could read to the dogs. The article said that kids who had despised reading, would actually read with the dogs when they came in. I had brought Cooper in to my old school last year, and it had been a success.
So, when I brought this to my principal, she said I could bring him in (on a day that she wasn't there, because she is afraid of all animals).

So, to work we went. In the morning, Cooper sat by the door in my office, waiting for people to pass by and come in so he could roll over onto his back and get pets....

And then he got to meet some of the kids in one of the 4th grade classrooms. Oh how they loved Cooper. And, Cooper just moved around the circle, soaking up all of the love, and pets that they had to offer.

He even spent some time helping to administer a test:

(at first he was actually in the kiddo's lap....then he decided he wanted in on the action)
And then he spent some time learning about 3rd grade math, up close and personal:

He also had some stories read to him, got taken for a short walk outside, helped turn a kid's bad morning into a great afternoon, soaked up some more pets and love (from both kis and teachers), and then we made our way home.

Cooper is passed out as we speak. He is adorable.
I think, seeing him in these settings, makes me love my buddy even more. Seeing how he makes people (kids and adults) smile, seeing the motivation he brought to some of the kids to read and do work...it was priceless.

I love my pup! :)

Cuteness Infused Thursday

Happy Thursday, bloggie friends! It's a beautiful day here in DC (and I mean gorrrrrrgeous!) Sunshine, like zero humidity! It's incredible. I may have just tagged along with the 4th grade class to recess to soak up the sun supervise. hehe.

So, since nothing of great consequence is happening (and that is a major good thing given the past week's events), I figured I would infuse some cuteness into your days with some animal pictures that I dare you not to "awww" at. Courtesy of Pinterest.....

little baby polar bear....

who doesn't love a little cuddle session??

adorrrrrrable!

my personal all-time favorite animal (mammal)

hipster pup...these kind of pictures just crack me up--especially since this guy resembles my little guy Cooper :)

I hope that does of cuteness rev's up the engines and gives you a little something to smile about to get you through the rest of the day! One more day until the weekend!!!

Don't forget to come back tomorrow and link up for Photo Inspiration Friday!!! Find a picture (or two, three, etc) that are inspiring you this week and link up! Cant wait to see what's inspiring you all this week!

P.S. I've hit the 50 follower mark!!! You guys rock!!! :)

Tail Wagging Tuesday

Today I'm linking up with CMae for Tail Wagging Tuesday!

Today's link up is showing a video clip of your pet. Mine is from when Cooper got neutered and I got him a little e-collar instead of the lampshade (he was so small it pulled his head down and dragged on the floor). This video was from the first time I put it on him ...

My puppy cracks me up. I love his little puppy fur!! (Don't worry, he didn't get hurt in the computer cord that he tangled himself up in after his barrel rolls!)

Hope this brightened your day! :)

Tail Wagging Tuesday

Hey all! I'll be back later for an actual post (back from the blog-less land!), but today I am linking up with C-Mae over at Live What You Love for Tail Wagging Tuesday:

Today's link up is to share a picture of your pet where they sleep. Cooper loves sleeping just about anywhere, but most mornings when I get ready for work, little guy loves curling up on the bed to sleep--and usually the side of the bed that I sleep on! Here's an example:
Or, on top of a leg...especially one that is curled up and creates a nice little nook for him (if you make the picture bigger you can even see his tongue sticking out in R&R bliss):

And sometimes in a pile of clothes, sheets or blankets, especially when they are left on the floor (which NEVER happens.....riiiiight haha):

When he was a puppy...look at that puppy fur!!

And since I was just in St. Louis for the week spending time with Boyfriend, I also got to spend a ton of time with his dog (Cooper's brother), Miles. So I had to include a picture of my other doggy-son! :)

Miles, curled up on the couch next to me on his 3rd birthday with his new toy gorilla
That's it for me and the cute pictures of the pups! I hope they've brought a little smile to your face....just looking back at the pictures definitely brings one to mine!
Happy Tuesday!!
