Dominican Repub Recap

Happy Thursday, bloggie friends! Im still recovering from the stupid cold I picked up traveling back from the DR, but Im glad that I have the time off to be a sicky at home.  I figured since I'm sick (and have finally loaded all of my pics from the trip) that this would be a good time to show you some of the pics from MG's and my trip to the DR last weekend. (wow....I just realized that we left for that trip almost a week ago. It seems like AGES ago already).

We had easy flights down to MIami and then to DR and landed outside of this airport:
Doesnt look like your average, everyday airport, does it?

Then we took a shuttle to our hotel where we checked into (and upgraded) our room to this:

I didn't get a picture of the bathroom area but it was really nice, with a glass door shower, a separate room for the toilet and had a jacuzzi too!

The view from our balcony:
(there was also a lap pool to the right of this, directly below our balcony)

And the view of the rest of the island from the hallway outside of our room:
This was a more overcast afternoon, but the view in the mornings and near sundown were gorg!

And then there's the view from our lounge chairs every day when we were on the beach:

And these are a couple of pics of MG and I throughout the trip:

First full day on the beach

Before dinner our second night

Before dinner on our last night, significantly more tanned. Woohoo!

As you can see by the amount of drinks on our table, we took FULL advantage of the all-inclusive
aspect of the vacation! And, at this restaurant, they had THE best margaritas that I have ever had. No joke!
The resort was beautiful, and had SO many different places for you to go throughout the day. The main pool had a swim-up bar, and daily activities, but there were 4 or so more pools throughout the complex (like the ones you can see in the balcony pic) that you could go to if you wanted a more low-key, quieter atmosphere.

The sand on the beach was SO soft, the water was super clear and warm, and the weather was phenomenal. I dont even think we ever saw one raindrop, which was nice considering the forecast had said scattered thunderstorms for every day that we were there.  The food was also really good, with a buffet of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with a snack bar throughout the day, and 5 or more restaurants to choose from for dinner. And, I think MG and I counted at least 5 different bars throughout the resort.

Of all of the all-inclusive trips I have done (this was my third) this resort, the Be Live Grand Punta Cana, was the best! I would totally recommend it to anyone (but I would say to read reviews and do the first upgrade for your room. You wont regret it!).

So, after all of that fun, I'm now nursing this cold and hoping it clears up before I go back to hell work on Monday!

Hope you enjoyed the pics of my trip!!! Happy Thursday!

WILW and Oh, How Pinteresting!

It's Wednesday, peeps, which means that my break from work is coming to an end. It's been an awesome 2 weeks off (despite the fact that Im now sick) and I am not looking forward to going back to work. Buuuuut, we're not gonna focus on that--instead we're gonna talk about some of the things I'm loving today for WILW with Jamie at this kind of love.

I'm loving that my trip to the Dominican was a success! The weather was phenomenal, the resort was awesome, and MG and I got to spend some quality time together soaking it, and some relaxation, in.

I'm loving that for three days, this was my view from my lounge chair on the beach in DR:

I'm loving that MG offered to come over and bring me food and meds last night since I'm feeling sick. It's nice to feel taken care of, esp when you're not feeling great.

I'm loving that, even tho I am sick, I have a few days to try and recover before I have to go back to work. Yay for not having to take a sick day when you're actually sick!

I'm loving that I'm reading the book One Day after several bloggie friends recommended it. I started it while reading on the beach in D.R. with the breeze blowing, the waves crashing, and a tropical drink by my side. Not a bad way to get some reading in :)

I'm loving the link up Oh, How Pinteresting with Michelle at The Vintage Apple.

I'm baaaaaaack!

Hey all!

I made it back from the Dominican Republic, and it was AMAZING! It went by WAY too quickly, but the weather was fab, the drinks were endless, the food was delish, and the resort was beautiful (over 5 bars, 5 pools, 6+ restaurants, etc)! Our room was super nice, and we had a great time!

Yesterday was travel hell getting back into the US and going through Customs in Miami, and we didnt get home until after midnight. I haven't had a chance to upload my pictures but hopefully it will be done by tomorrow!

In the meantime, I'm nursing a slight cold (that I picked up in Miami) and am taking it easy.

Stay tuned, cuz I have some pretty pics for ya!

Hope you guys have had a great last 4 days!!!

It's the AWESOME and AMAZING Trish!!!

Hey! It's MEEEEE - world famous Trish from Tales at Trish.

Ok...so...I'm not SOO much world famous. But...you know.  Maybe one day...

I'm guest blogging for Jenn while her and Mr. MG are traveling back from Punta Cana, and
I'll admit it -- I'm TOTALLY jealous.

I mean - who gets 2 weeks off in the middle of October AND gets to go to Dominican?! Jenn! Lucky Girl!

I know when she gets back she's going to post all these beautiful photos of the resort, and of sunsets, sand and blue skies ... so I thought I'd do the opposite ... I'm posting some misery that we'll probably be seeing soon in the MD/VA/DC area in the next couple months:

ok...ok. I went nice. I posted cutesy pictures of snow. Because I HEART Jenn despite my jealously :).

Her and I go waaaaay back to our college years -- freshmen orientation as a matter of fact. And we spent two (was it two?) GLORIOUS years living together. We have lots of memories and lots of good times and she's totally my BFF.

So that's all for now! Maybe she'll let me guest blog for her again one day (on her Spring Break) and I'll tell you all her dirty secrets. Wouldn't you love that?!

Jk!

Anyhoo - I Can't wait to hear all about her fantastical and magical trip!
Happy Monday

Friday's Fancies: Fall Colors

Happy Friday, all!

Altho I'm currently in the Dominican (woot woot!!), I wanted to come up with an outfit for Friday's Fancies with {av} at {long distance loving} whose theme this week was to create an outfit based on Fall colors.

I had the inspiration to create a similar outfit based on one that I found on Pinterest, even tho purple isn't  the typical "Fall" color you would think about, I LOVE this look for Fall:

And, this is the outfit that I created:

What do you think? What are you fancying this week? Head over and link up!

Have great weekends! I'll be back next week with tons of pics (I'm sure) of my Punta Cana vacay!  (And on Monday I have an awesome guest blogger posting!) Stay tuned!!!

***Shout out:  GOOD LUCK, TRISH on your marathon this weekend! I know I won't be here to cheer you on but I KNOW you're gonna rock it! Love and hugs to you!!!

It's Ok, Thursday!

Happy Thursday, lovies! It's nearing the end of the week, which means that it is nearing my vacation departure. We are now at the less than 24 hour countdown mark! Wooohoooo! This time tomorrow I will hopefully be well on my way to the Dominican.

But, in the meantime, Im linking up with Neely and Amber at A Complete Waste of Makeup for It's Ok, Thursday.

Its Ok Thursdays

It's ok.....

.....that I am nearing the end of my first week of vacation and Im sad that it's going so quickly....

....that I didn't get out of my PJ's yesterday until after 11:30....

....that I can hardly contain my excitement at being in the Dominican in less than a day, with MG, for a loooooong weekend!....

....that I see all of these cool things on other people's blogs that I'd like to do, but can't seem to figure out HOW. Makes me feel Stooooooopid.....

...that I have errands to run today but because it's raining, I really dont wanna do it (which was my excuse yesterday, too). But, I dont have a choice since my flight leaves at 6am tomorrow....

...to love when my pup Cooper curls up with (or on) me when I'm home during the week when I'm normally not. Nothing like love from your animal friend :)....

.....to make this post short because I have to go and give a bath to my pup, and get myself packed for my trip!...

Have a great rest of the week!

WILW and Oh, How Pinteresting!

Happy Wednesday, lovies! I hope your weeks are swimming with fun. Mine has been relaxing and I have totally been enjoying my time off.

On that note, what better time to look at the things I'm loving this week. I'm linking up with Jamie at this kind of love for What I'm Loving Wednesday
I'm loving that I got to see my buddy Genna this weekend and spend some QT together. The weekend flew by, as they always do, but it was such a good time. Miss her already!!

I'm loving that I'm on vacation. I know I've talked about it in pretty much every post, but I can't express how nice it is to be away from the hellhole work.

I'm loving that there are now TWO DAYS until MG and I make our way to Punta Cana on Friday morning. I'm totally in the mood to escape somewhere tropical, drink some yummy drinks, eat some yummy food, and soak in the sun, put my feet in the water and just relax. And the romantical factor is a nice addition too ;)

I'm loving that the weather has been so nice lately. Fall took a backseat the past few days and Spring weather seems to be back for a bit!

And, as always, I'm loving Oh How Pinteresting, with Michelle at The Vintage Apple

Here are some of the things I've been pinning:

I need this as a print and framed at my house! Too perfect!
Sleepy pup (perhaps he took part in 'Wine Time' above) hehe

I love how romantic this look is

The Dominican. Can you tell I'm excited??

Malibu and Pineapple Rum Punch  Looking forward to fruity drinks like this in DR

Apple+ Ice Cream + Caramel  Such a cute dessert idea for the Fall!

And this. Because I am immature. And it makes me laugh. Because I'm immature. :)
