Happy Friday, friends! Another week in the books! This weekend's weather is looking to be cold and dreary which is a total bummer--but that just means more time to snuggle up inside right?
Enough about the weather (which has been nuts!) and let's get to some favorites from the week!

I can't remember who posted about it last week (and I'm sorry not to give the credit out), but someone last week posted about the podcast Straight up with Stassi. Being a Vanderpump fan, I was all over it, and I've really enjoyed listening to it when I log my notes at work, or on my drives. If you like Vanderpump Rules, check it out--it's a fun find!

{2} Skype/Facetime
What would we do without technology? Skype is definitely a favorite this week since it's allowed me to see my husband who is overseas for work, every day. Seeing his face and being able to talk as if he's here makes having him gone suck just a little bit less. Thank goodness for all of these gadgets and gizmos that make staying in touch so much easier!

{3}Mira Bottles

I've mentioned them before, but I had to re-invest in one because I left mine at my friends' place last weekend and didn't have time to go get it this week, so I just got another one. But now, MIRA bottles have expanded their designs from just gray, red, black and blue to these two new patterns. I debated it for a bit and got the leaf pattern, but the wood one is super cool too! For $19 instead of $35+ for the Swell bottles (and they are identical!) it's a good deal!

I took this photo of Cooper on Monday morning. He was sleeping in MG's spot on the bed and when I went to go get him, he gave me those sad puppy eyes and the look that said "Do we really have to get up, Mom?" I love how tiny and cute and cuddly he looks here. Total fave from the week!

Confessing and Hashtags

I don't know about you, but I kind of love having this weekly confession post with you all--feels like I can unload, and laugh which is nice!

So, let's get to it!

I confess that.....
....I normally don't share when MGs out of town, but he is, and it's going to be over our anniversary. So, I figured I'd just let the cat out of the bag so you all don't wonder why there are no photos of us together on our anniversary next week. And I'm pretty sure no one in blog world knows where I live, and if you do, I doubt that you're going to come and kill me. You can come and drink wine with me though! :)

....when MG is out of town, I eat not as great as when he's here. It's just that I find it so much harder to cook for one and then I end up with a bunch of leftovers and get sick of it after a day or two. #macandcheeseanyone?

.....the outpouring of love and support that I got on my post on Tuesday about giving up control was completely overwhelming. I didn't realize there were so many people out there struggling with the same issues as me...or the same topic, and just different issues. Thank you for your love and support--it truly has done me a world of good to know I'm not alone, and to feel the support from you all! #feelinthebloglove

.....every time MG goes out of town, we joke that something will break (because when we first lived together, this happened EVERY time he would leave), and this week it happened again with our stove. Luckily I got it working again, somehow, but it freaking figures...every. single. time. #withoutfail

.....I can't stand when lazy teachers try and blame their laziness (and the lack of results) on other people. I had a sped teacher tell a parent the other day that her kid's lack of progress with his reading rate was likely due to his language. One--that makes NO sense. Two--that's not true. Three--stop trying to pawn off your laziness on everyone else and look in the mirror lady! #doyourdamnjob

......I'm over this cold ass weather! We had mid low 80s last Friday, and high 70s on Monday and then it dipped into the 30s in the mornings and I'm back to wearing my Winter coat. What gives, Mother Nature? Wake Spring back up and tell her to get back to business! #StopsleepingonthejobSpring

......I unintentionally fell asleep on the couch on Tuesday night at 8pm for a solid hour. Luckily I woke up right in time for Married at First Sight, though #tiredpeopleprobs

....I cancelled my Rocksbox membership. It's been a year and I've purchased 5 really great pieces, but I don't really feel like I need it anymore #byebyebaubles

...I almost ripped my car insurance company a new a-hole when I got a notice from the DMV that they couldn't verify my car insurance and if I didn't get it verified with them by 4-18 that they were going to suspend my license. I called my insurance company the DAY I got my new car (uhhh, January!) and they asked for all of my info and everything was good. Come to find out yesterday that "in error, they did not add the vehicle" so apparently I've been driving around semi-insured...kinda sorta? Thanks for almost getting my license suspended, insurance. #jerks

What's Hap-"Pinning" Wednesday {#35}

Happy middle of the week, friends! We're halfway through, and halfway there--keep plugging away!

For the last week, whenever I'm on Pinterest I feel like I keep pinning yummy looking recipes...and then clothes. Of which I probably wouldn't fit into if I ate all of the recipe I've been pinning. But, I digress.

These dresses just have me aching for Spring. Our weather here gives us a taste of a 70 or 80 degree day and then a day or two later we're in the 40s and I'm wearing boots and my Winter coat again!

Giving Up

Today, I'm giving up. But not in the way you think. 
I'm giving up control. My need for control over things is part of my personality. I want things to go right, and in the way I want them to, in my timing.  Thank you, Type-A-ness.

But life isn't like that. And sometimes the Universe makes sure you realize it.

Point taken, Universe. I get it. And I'm giving up my need for control over this.

I never thought, when I was younger, that I'd be 33 and still not have a baby. Hell, I thought I'd be DONE with having kids by 33, not still trying to get started.  That's how I felt about getting married, too. That happened later in life than I'd planned, but I wouldn't change it for the world because it brought me the RIGHT person in the RIGHT timing.

And that's probably what the Universe is trying to teach me now with getting pregnant. As much as I WANT (desperately want) to have control over this, I don't. 
I. Just. Don't. 

I need to have faith. And I do...I just haven't been leaning on that faith like I should. I've let worry, and control, and stress creep in and cloud that faith. And I DO know that this is going to happen for us. I truly believe it in the deepest part of me. I just need to let go.

So this is me, pledging to myself, to you, and to the Universe....I'm giving up my control. I'm going to let life happen, I'm going to let love happen, and I'm going to let my faith take over. I can't keep trying to hold onto this with a tight fist. It's just going to continue to slip through my fingers and make me that much more anxious, angry, upset, frustrated, mad....you name it, I've felt it. And I don't want to anymore.

I think with dealing with so many "emotional dinosaurs" lately, as my friend called them, it's forced me to let go of some of the stress. And this is one that I absolutely CAN and NEED to let go of. I have grief over my dad's passing, and I can't just let that go without it having other detrimental effects--I need to feel it, and heal through it. But I CAN let this go.  And I'm choosing to.

Winery Weekending Highlights

Oooh girls, I need a weekend after my weekend.  Can I get an extension?

This weekend was jam-packed and remember how I said my liver needed a warm up for it? Boy, was I right...

My weekend highlights included:

~These yummy treats from my coworker (soooo delicious!)

~Date night with MG where we got to eat outside and enjoy the nice weather!

~Made the final decision to cancel our May Aruba trip which was SO hard to do, but we knew that if anything happened to a baby in our future, because of a vacation, that we would never be able to forgive ourselves

~Early to bed fell asleep on the couch to wake up early to get ready for my friend's bachelorette party

~Took a super nice party bus to the first winery, Breaux where we did a tasting, enjoyed the view, and then had a picnic lunch outside. The grounds were absolutely beautiful!

~Hit up the second winery, Sunset Hill Vineyard, where we did our own tasting (bought a bunch of bottles, and one of the girls read the descriptions off of the bottle haha) because the place was packed and getting ready for a wedding

~Had so much fun drinking, laughing, talking and getting to know some of the other girls who had come to the party that I hadn't met before, including the bride's two super fun and sweet sisters

~Took some really fun and cute mini polaroid pics

~Had SO much fun that I left my jacket at the winery and realized it halfway back home (doh!) Luckily one of the girls lives out that way and is picking it up for me #thankgoodnessfornicepeeps

~Went out to dinner with the bride-to-be and partook in wayyyyyyy too many more bevies

~Jumped in an Uber with my friend when hers arrived. And not a moment too soon!

~Passed out when I got home, and then woke up twice during the night to the power going off and on because of the major wind storm we were having

~Woke up in the morning and didn't feel like total death (thank you Vitamin B Complex and Excedrin--miracle hangover cure!!), but didn't feel great

~Had our neighbor come by and tell us that her tree had fallen on our deck in the middle of the night! Luckily there wasn't any damage to the grill, and the deck only has some scratches

~Made my way to my parent's town for another Celebration of Life for my dad, that my mom  threw for my dad's friends, neighbors, etc

~Got to love up on this little baby that my parents' neighbor is fostering. She definitely fed my baby fever :)

~Heard lots of "that looks good on you" and "you're a natural" kind of comments.

 Hear that, up there?? I'm ready! :)

~Got to spend time with my HS bestie and her mom, who also attended the gathering

~Made my way back home after a couple of hours, picked up Thai food for dinner and continued to recuperate from the events of the day before. AKA, watched tv and sat my butt on the couch with some Cooper cuddles

Needless to say, it was a REALLY fun weekend, but "daaaaaaaahm Daniel" I'm tired!

Friday Faves: No Foolin' Around

{1}Favorite Jewelry
Last week I talked about my new ear jackets (which I looooove), and then my Rocksbox came for the month and in it was this Kendra Scott necklace in light gold, with a rose quartz stone and I had to snap it up. I used my Shine spend, plus the money I had in my account and it only cost me $9 out of pocket. Score!

And then on Wednesday, a day I was having a particularly hard time, I came home from work and had a package in the mail from some amazing blog friends who sent me this beautiful necklace in remembrance of my dad. I absolutely love it, and I love how thoughtful they were to do this. Thank you Nikki, Kerri, Pamela, Pinky, Kathleen, Ashley, Kate and Emily!

{2} Bachelorette Party!!
Tomorrow is my friends' bachelorette party who is getting married in Aruba in May (one month!) We're spending the day going to different wineries and then out to dinner. I'm actually really excited, it should be a great time, with great girls, and some nice weather. Bring on the wine!

{3} Morgan Freeman

Well, he's just awesome. But have you downloaded his voice on Waze? I've used it several times and it always makes me laugh when his voice comes on and gives me directions. Here's how to get Morgan to guide you around town.

He also did a "dramatic reading" of The Biebs' song "Love Yourself". As a friend of mine said, I could listen to him read the phone book. He should do a meditation program where he tells you what to do and lulls you into being stress-free!

{4} FaceTime Date
Last night I got in a FaceTime date with my girl Lynn. We'd been planning to catch up "face-to-face" for a while and finally made it happen. I loved getting to see the house updates, see little Evie's adorable little smile (and watch her try and pet Cooper through the phone), and just get caught up on life. Sometimes a little girlfriend session does your heart and soul really good, and if you can't do it in person, FaceTime is the next best thing!
