Dreaming ...
of our summer getaways! Summer school is almost over (2 more days!) MG and I have 2 summer vacations planned and I can't wait! :)

Reading ...
The Good Girl, and Ever After. I finished Bread and Wine and will give you guys a review soon. The ones I'm reading now are pretty good as well!

Playing ...
Zingo with my kids at work--my coworker friend/fellow SLP had Zingo in her bag of tricks this summer and it has quickly become a favorite. Any moms of little kids, look into this game--it's cute and they have different ones with pictures, sight words and math (and it's only $11 on Amazon). I already bought myself one and plan to use it next school year.
Watching ...
I watched the Bachelorette finale this week--I knew Shawn would win because Kaitlyn spoiled her own season on Snapchat part way through (hear about what happened here). I actually felt bad for Nick towards the end, and think she shouldn't have let him go through his whole proposal speech before she let him go. I was a Nick hater in the beginning and now I feel for the guy.

Bring on the drama from Bachelor in Paradise--aka Kaitlyn and Chris Soules' rejects...and Clare.

Thinking ...
about the dinner I'm going to make for a couple friend who are coming over this weekend. My friend is vegan, and I've never, at least not intentionally, made a vegan meal. A little nerve wracking but I think I have a plan.

Cooking...
lately it's been some old, tried and true recipes for me, like one pan mexican quinoa, and chicken parmesan meatballs. But, like I said, I'm going to be attempting a vegan meal this weekend. Mushroom fajitas! Anyone have easy vegan appetizers?
{via} They look pretty good, right?
Drinking ...
strawberry/lemon water, trying to stay hydrated during these super hot and sticky days!

Texting...
Amanda about some fashion choices, and last week it was an entertaining conversation about an engagement ring. And my bestie...about a bunch of stuff :)

Wanting ...
The Nordstrom sale to be over. Ok, I don't really want it to be over, but I do. So it can stop tempting me to buy more more more! #mycreditcardisdying

Looking ...
at Cooper and am so thankful that he's mine. And that his seizure meds have made him virtually seizure free (as far as we have seen). So happy to have this little guy in my life.

Enjoying ...
having the afternoons off--I could seriously get used to working half days all the time. There's so much time during the afternoon to get things done, schedule appointments, or just relax!

Wasting ...
money on the Nordstrom sale. Ok, not wasting....at least not according to me ;)

Loving ...

my new nail polish from Essie. It's called Limo-Scene and I love the light white color! My coworker told me about the color and it was exactly what I had been looking for:
uhhhhhbbbb--sessed!
Hating...
haters. I don't understand the constant need of some people to just nit pick at people. If you have the time to pick someone apart small detail by small detail, then you're just showing everyone how pathetic your life is. Find something more productive to spend your time doing. No one likes a hater.

Trying ...
a new workout program. Have you heard of Cize? It's the new program by Shaun T that is more dancing focused. It finally came in the mail yesterday and I got to work. Holy jeez was I sweating by the end! I'll be doing a full review once I do it a little more/longer!
Wearing ...
my new Reef flip flops from the Nordstrom sale, every chance I get. They go with everything and are so comfy! Love Reef!

Pinning...
a bunch of yummy recipes that I want to try. And some funnies that I spot along the way :)

Feeling ...
excited about Jessi's and my link up--starting NEXT WEDNESDAY! Don't forget to swing by and link up with what's hap-"pinning" in your life!!

Grateful For...
my health. Things can change in the blink of an eye, for you or someone else, and you just don't know when that will happen. Be grateful for the people in your life, and the things you have, especially your health.

Praying...
For Leslie's family, specifically her husband and two little daughters.  I got the heart breaking news from my friend Jess yesterday that Leslie had passed away and I was in shock. Please send thoughts and prayers her family's way--I can only imagine what they are going through right now. The world lost a sweet sweet woman. Saw the hashtags to share on social media on my friend Lynn and Jess' blogs: #rememberingleslie #beblessedlovlies (The GoFundMe page for her daughter's college funds is here)

What are you up to currently?

  1. Yay for summer vacations! I can't believe school is almost over again! Where did this summer go? Loving that nail polish too, so pretty! And I saw about Leslie. I didn't follow her blog but absolutely heartbreaking.

  2. OMG I had no idea Kaitlyn spoiled her news through snapchat!!! I was actually rooting for Nick towards the end because they put him in the good guy light I thought, and I didn't watch Andi's season at all, but I'm really happy she ended up with Shawn so I hope that works out. Yay for summer trips!!!! I am itching to go on another one soon, I just don't know where. Half the time I just want to book a quick overnight flight somewhere just for fun, which may happen soon lol :) I'm so glad Cooper's seizure meds are working!! It stinks when you can't do much for dogs when they are ill. Haters gonna hate, that's for sure. Let them hate and you keep doing you :) I didn't follow Leslie but that hurts my heart so bad to hear about her untimely death. My prayers are definitely with her family.

I hope you have a great day!!

  4. I felt so bad for Nick - weird I know...but you're right she shouldn't have let him go through the proposal - thankfully he didn't get down on one knee lol! Can't wait for your next book reviews :) Happy Wednesday! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  6. I haven't heard about that workout, but I'm intrigued to learn more since I love anything dance-based!

  7. Yay for those getaways - where is the second one to?? I've been meaning to ask about that workout since your instagram the other day - I do zumba just about every morning and would love to switch it up sometimes with that! I still can't believe Kaitlyn spoiled everything and I totally felt so bad for Nick - I was not liking her in that moment! Feeling so grateful for my health today - that news crushed me yesterday and I can't stop thinking about their sweet family - I definitely gave Derek and extra hug and "I love you" last night.

  8. Yay for vacation - so fun! Love you new polish and thanks for the heads up on the game. I'm with you on the Nordy's sale being over - it's taking all of the self control. And I'm sad for Leslie too. I never read her blog until yesterday, she seemed like such a great person. My heart hurts for her little girls.

  9. I felt bad for Nick too!! But I do think Kaitlyn and Shawn are a great match...we'll see if they make it! Hating haters and loving that nail polish...and that Cooper is doing so much better...sweet pup :). Praying for Leslie and her family...so tragic!! Xx

  10. OMG I hadn't heard about Leslie. The last I saw she was going back in for more treatment for her heart. That is so sad. :(

  12. Oh that nail polish is so pretty, perfect for this time of year. The nordie's sale was so good this year. I just did another order and added those Kate Spade earrings to it. I had to have them. That sale needs to end so that I can go back to my shopping ban. So very sad about Leslie, just heartbreaking. Gone way too soon.

  13. I didn't follow Leslie's blog, but that is absolutely heart wrenching - keeping her family in my prayers. On a happier note ... YES to Bachelor in Paradise - I can't wait for the train wreck that it's bound to be, and I'm so glad that you read a ton so I know what I should/shouldn't be reading. I ordered a Kindle yesterday to make the switch from hard copies to digital, so now I hopefully will read that much more!

  14. How do you like Ever After? I was disappointed in Kaitlyn's handling of Nick as well! She never should have let it go down like that, period. I think I'm actually going to watch Bachelor in Paradise this year! I didn't follow Leslie's blog but it is obvious by all the posts about her today that she was an incredible person!

  22. So hate nitpickers too! If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all. Why don't more people live by this! And love that Essie color! Very "August" :)

    Cheers! Taylor @ The Southerndoe

  23. Very cool link up! I'll have to join next Wednesday. I felt bad for Nick too. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride. Just shove him on Bachelor in Paradise. Where are you guys headed this summer?
